UPDATE: Robert Duvall - R.I.P. Lonesome Dove / Texas Ranger Museum, Waco, Texas

If you've never been to the Texas Ranger Museum, You would be doing yourself a favor to visit.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Robert Duvall, the Oscar-winning actor of matchless versatility and dedication whose classic roles included the intrepid consigliere of the first two “Godfather” movies and the over-the-hill country music singer in “Tender Mercies,” has died at age 95.
Duvall died “peacefully” at his home Sunday in Middleburg, Virginia, according to an announcement from a statement by his wife, Luciana Duvall.

    1. Agreed, Dave. I loved that movie. My other favorites are Lonesome Dove and Open Range. I imagine that I’ll get a hate comment, but I wasn’t a big fan of The Godfather … it was good but not one of my favorites.

In an article about Jesse Jackson entitled "Black Hope White Hope" by Jack Pekannen published in Life Magazine Nov. 21, 1969 the author relates how Jesse told of his days as a waiter at the Jack Tar Hotel in Greenville, SC and how he would spit in the white patrons food as he carried their meals from the kitchen.
    And then smile as he served them.

  5. Robert Duvall was made a Honorary Texas Ranger by the State of Texas and had a Ranger Star and credentials.
