There's bias in the media, and then there's next-level, full-throated love of the most extreme parts of the leftist movement, as exhibited by ABC News reporter Matt Gutman.
Gutman, as many are aware, went on an unhinged romanticization of text messages revealed by Charlie Kirk's assassin to his love interest, where he seemingly admitted to and attempted to justify his actions.
The reporter thoroughly embarrassed himself with the gushing sentiments. He felt the need to highlight the "duality" of a deranged killer and how he spoke "so lovingly" to his partner.

It's remarkable, really, when you consider the media spends a good chunk of their time dehumanizing people like President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and some of their friends ... like Charlie Kirk. But then finds an assassin to be a romantic figure to be admired.

Jimmy Kimmel forced ABC to suspend him. He did it to himself through his unfunny, sanctimonious lecturing and poor ratings. And he LIED to his 15 viewers knowing full well he was lying.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been indefinitely suspended by ABC following his comments about Charlie Kirk’s death, and Democrats everywhere are crying that this is a violation of free speech by the Trump administration. Not that liberals will believe it, but the decision likely had nothing to do with the Federal Communications Commission and everything to do with syndicates not wanting to lose viewers over Kimmel’s comments.
Kimmel lied to his audience, and syndicates knew they would have to pay the price of a boycott of their networks, so ABC stemmed the bleeding by suspending Kimmel’s show. Kimmel wasn’t censored. He wasn’t taken off the air by Trump’s FCC. He lied to the public and was going to cost his bosses money, so he was (temporarily) given the axe.
Kimmel’s regular political soliloquies and lack of any comedy that appeals to anyone outside an obnoxious liberal bubble also set the stage for his suspension. Kimmel’s show is some 650,000 viewers behind Stephen Colbert’s, which CBS announced it would permanently take off the air next year. Colbert’s show was especially bombing among the 18-to-49-year-old demographic that advertisers are chasing, and Kimmel’s “strongest performance in a year” put him just 1,000 viewers ahead of Colbert among those viewers.
If the finances for Kimmel’s show are anything like Colbert’s, then he is already losing his boss's money. Between the worse ratings, his overpoliticized “comedy,” and lying to the public about the facts of a major political assassination, this suspension was the result of Kimmel’s ego and toxic politics, not any sort of First Amendment violation.

Kimmel, the veteran late-night comic, made several comments about the reaction to Kirk’s assassination on his show Monday and Tuesday nights. He said that “many in MAGA land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.”
ABC, which has aired Kimmel’s late-night show since 2003, moved swiftly after Nexstar Communications Group said it would pull the show starting Wednesday. Kimmel’s comments about Kirk’s death “are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse,” said Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division. Nexstar operates 23 ABC affiliates.
There was no immediate comment from Kimmel.

President Donald Trump celebrated ABC’s move on the social media site Truth Social, writing: “Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.”
He also targeted two other late-night hosts, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, and said they should be canceled too, calling them “two total losers.”

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said Wednesday the presidential debate was so clearly rigged it ultimately helped Donald Trump and hurt Kamala Harris.
“The dishonesty and bias of the moderators set new records for a network trying to rig a debate,” Gingrich wrote. “The big loser from Tuesday’s Presidential Debate was ABC News.”
Virtually everyone recognized what ABC was up to and in the end, it helped the former president and hurt Harris, he observed.
“The so-called fact checking was atrocious,” he wrote, citing as an example the moderators’ assertion that President Trump’s concern about babies being allowed to die after birth was wrong.
At least eight babies “have been allowed to die in Minnesota under Gov. Tim Walz after attempted abortions,” Gingrich noted. “The ABC fact check was simply a lie.”

During an exchange in which Cotton mentioned several of Kamala Harris' radical policy positions, Karl insisted that she no longer supports ending private health insurance. The only thing I can give Karl credit for in that clip is that he remained an absolute hack until the bitter end of the segment. Other than that, he got his clock cleaned by Cotton, who did his homework and was ready to knock down the press' attempts to play propaganda arm for Harris.
How can a self-described "journalist" sit there and claim multiple times that Harris has changed her position on decriminalizing illegal immigration and eliminating private healthcare, when she's done zero interviews and zero press conferences since starting her presidential campaign? She also hasn't released an official policy platform. Since when is a nominee allowed to flip-flop via Friday-night news dumps through anonymous aides without any question?
It is embarrassing that members of the press like Karl are not only allowing her to get away with that, but they are playing PR agent for her under the guise of news. That he then went on to play PR agent for the DNC, claiming it was not a radical conference, is just as bad. Since when is it his job to play defense for political conventions?
As I said, though, Cotton followed the number-one rule by rejecting the entire premise. That left Karl robotically parroting the same line over and over because once you knock a journalist off their game, they've got nothing left. Members of the press are lazy. They don't do any actual research. They go in with the talking points provided for them, and if a Republican successfully counters them, they get flustered and frustrated. Cotton kept his cool, countered the lies, and made Karl look ridiculous.

We’re seeing signs of a notable shift in how some U.S. mainstream media outlets operate. Surprisingly, some have started reporting certain news stories fairly and accurately. Recently, the Washington Post published an article urging Joe Biden not to run in 2024 and CNN spent an entire segment blathering on about what a liar Joe Biden is.
Now, most likely, CNN and the Washington Post have gotten their marching orders from higher-ups who’ve decided Joe needs to go. But there’s a lot more to this story.
What’s even more notable and can’t be so easily explained away is a recent ABC News story on Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis and President Trump. It’s quite something that ABC News didn’t mince words, describing Fani’s actions against Trump as a desperate move, like “throwing stuff against the wall.” This level of honesty is quite a departure from what we would have seen just a few months ago.

The article is on trying to use the 14th amendment to claim Trump is disqualified because of his efforts to ‘overturn’ the 2020 election:

ABC News - “Separate from the criminal cases, over the past few weeks a growing body of conservative scholars have raised the constitutional argument that Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election make him ineligible to hold federal office ever again.
That disqualification argument boils down to Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which says that a public official is not eligible to assume public office if they “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the United States, or had “given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof,” unless they are granted amnesty by a two-thirds vote of Congress.
Advocacy groups have long argued that Trump’s behavior after the 2020 election fits those criteria. The argument gained new life earlier this month when two members of the conservative Federalist Society, William Baude and Michael Stokes Paulsen, endorsed it in the pages of the Pennsylvania Law Review.
“If the public record is accurate, the case is not even close. He is no longer eligible to the office of Presidency,” the article reads.

“Over a year ago, I said that Donald Trump was morally disqualified from being president again as a result of what happened on January 6th. More people are understanding the importance of that, including conservative legal scholars,” Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said, eliciting a mix of cheers and boos from the audience. “I’m not going to support somebody who’s been convicted of a serious felony or who is disqualified under our Constitution.” - ABC News

Notice they claim this is a ‘conservative’ argument, but do they say anywhere that these people are likely ‘Never-Trumpers’. (I say likely because, other than Hutchinson and Tribe, I’m not familiar these people.) No, what this is a leftist argument that the Never-Trumpers would love to see happen.
The entire argument is ludicrous. There was no insurrection or rebellion against the United States. It was just a riot. Plain and simple. Just because Asa Hutchinson used the word ‘insurrection’ during the debate doesn’t make it so. It only makes him look like a moron RINO, which is why he’ll never win the nomination. I honestly don’t even know why he’s running.
