Trump Wins Massive Payout From Humiliated CBS Over Kamala Interview Scandal

Paramount Global and CBS News have settled a lawsuit filed by President Trump, which alleged that the network deceptively edited an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris to make her appear more polished as a candidate.

Trump's lawsuit, filed last October, had claimed the network's actions amounted to election interference. He rejected an offer back in May to settle the case for $15 million. And it's a good thing he did so.
Details of the settlement have been made public. They are thoroughly humiliating for CBS.
The agreement involves two separate payments, the first of which is $16 million—an amount exceeding both the network's initial offer and the payment ABC had to shell out to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by Trump back in December after George Stephanopoulos falsely accused him of rape.
It pays to call out the fake news on their BS.
It gets worse for CBS and Paramount. The settlement includes an anticipated subsequent payment that has yet to be finalized, but according to reports, would also be in eight-figure territory, bringing the total amount to over $30 million.
The upfront payment of $16 million, according to Fox News, will "cover legal fees, costs of the case, and contributions to his future presidential library or charitable causes, to be determined at Trump’s discretion."
The subsequent amount will go towards "advertisements, public service announcements, or other similar transmissions, in support of conservative causes by the network in the future."
CBS will now help construct a library that will memorialize Trump's presidency for the foreseeable future. And, they'll be running conservative content on their airwaves.
Fox also reports that the network will implement a mandatory rule to release complete, unedited transcripts for interviews with presidential candidates, a measure referred to as the "Trump Rule" by sources involved in the settlement.
Devastating all around.
Naturally, Team Trump was thrilled with the settlement, as made clear in a statement issued by his legal team to Fox News Digital.
"With this record settlement, President Donald J. Trump delivers another win for the American people as he, once again, holds the Fake News media accountable for their wrongdoing and deceit," they wrote.
"CBS and Paramount Global realized the strength of this historic case and had no choice but to settle. President Trump will always ensure that no one gets away with lying to the American People as he continues on his singular mission to Make America Great Again."
Paramount, meanwhile, tried to save face by issuing its own statement.
"The settlement does not include a statement of apology or regret," they said, searching for a silver lining, while also noting that none of the money is to be paid directly to the president.

Chris Wallace told “The View” hosts that he thinks Donald Trump has refused to do a “60 Minutes” interview because he’s still running scared after his debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.
At the 2:00 minute mark: “I have a gut feeling, and my gut feeling is that debate, on some level, scared Donald Trump, and he realized that one: Giving a platform to Kamala Harris is a bad idea, which is why he’s not going to do another debate, which would attract 50, 60, 70 million people,” said the longtime journalist.
“If he were to appear on ’60 Minutes’ alongside her, people are going to one, compare them and two, it was going to attract a bigger audience, and I think he feels, ‘I’m going to stick to my area,” Wallace explained. “And look, he’s got a huge base that’s going to support him despite all of the reasons that you guys have been talking about today. And I think he thinks to the degree— in a funny way, I think he’s doing what Joe Biden did in 2020, which is sticking to the basement.”
Hostin also asked Wallace if he thought Trump’s aversion to another debate was due to him potentially being fact-checked, to which Wallace replied: “No, I think he’s a little bit scared about being seen and compared to Kamala Harris.” Ends 3:00.

Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) attempted to explain away his misstatements and exaggerations about his time serving in the military by hiding behind a school shooting and claiming that his grammar was not the best.
Walz joined Vice President Kamala Harris in her first official interview since becoming the Democratic Party’s de facto nominee — a pre-taped 18-minute spot with friendly CNN anchor Dana Bash — and Bash asked him about comments he’s made previously about “carrying weapons of war in war” despite never serving in a combat zone.
“Tim Walz asked about lying and claiming he carried weapons in war said, ‘My grammar’s not always correct.’ Holy crap. He’s a moron. He’s had a month to come up with a response and this is it?!” radio host Clay Travis posted.

“The country is just starting to get to know you,” Bash said to Walz. “I want to ask you a question about how you’ve described your service in the National Guard. You said that you carried weapons ‘in war,’ but you have never deployed actually in a war zone. A campaign official said you misspoke. Did you?”
Walz began by restating, as he has many times, how proud he is of his 24 years of service in the Army National Guard.
“I’m equally proud of my service in a public school classroom, whether it’s Congress or the governor,” Walz continued, first suggesting that his false claims were just the result of his manner of speaking. “My record speaks for itself, but I think people are coming to get to know me, I speak like they do.”
He followed that with the suggestion that his exaggeration came about because he was “especially passionate” about making sure that kids did not get hurt. “I speak candidly, I wear my emotions on my sleeve. I speak especially passionately about our children being shot in schools and around guns, so I think people know me, they know who I am, they know where my heart is, and again, my record has been out there for over 40 years. It should speak for itself.”
“The idea that you said that you were ‘in war,'” Bash pressed. “Did you misspeak, as the campaign has said?”

Walz shook his head, replying, “Yeah, I said — we were talking about, in this case, this was after a school shooting, the ideas of carrying these weapons of war, and my wife, the English teacher, told me my grammar’s not always correct. But again, if it’s not this, it’s an attack on my children for showing love for me or it’s an attack on my dog. I’m not gonna do that, and the one thing I’ll never do is I’ll never demean another member’s service.”
As news of Walz’s answer spread across X, however, critics pointed out the fact that Walz had referred to National Guard troops as “19-year-old cooks” who were not even prepared to handle the riots that tore apart his state after George Floyd’s death.
