Argentina Pres. Javier Milei Declares War At U.N. In Fiery Speech: ‘Long Live Freedom, Dammit!’

Milei absolutely laces into 'Socialist' UN in first speech to United Nations.

"Argentina will abandon its policy of historic neutrality and will be on the vanguard in the struggle for the defense of freedom," he said.
Argentina President Javier Milei declared war on the global Left during a rousing speech at the United Nations this week where he announced that his country would no longer remain neutral and on the sidelines.
The 53-year-old libertarian economist — whose policies have started to rapidly reverse Argentina’s decline with inflation rates falling, rental housing becoming more available and affordable, and economic growth outpacing forecasts — said that he became a politician “following the resounding failure of more than a century of collectivist policies that destroyed our country.”
He warned that the U.N. has veered off course in recent decades from its original charter of ensuring major global war did not erupt again by adopting principles centered around the belief that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.

Milei said that the organization changed from being “a shield to protect” mankind to “a leviathan with various tentacles purporting to decide not only what each nation state should do, but also how all the citizens in the world should live.”
He warned that the 2030 Agenda that the U.N. was pushing was nothing more than “a supranational government program that is socialist in shape.”
“It purports to resolve the problems of modernity with solutions that afflict the sovereignty of nation states and violate the right to life, right to freedom, and property of persons,” he said. “It’s an agenda that purports to resolve poverty, inequality, discrimination with legislation that simply furthers these issues, because the history of the world has shown that the only way of guaranteeing prosperity is by limiting the power of the monarch, by guaranteeing equality before the law, defending the right to life, to freedom, and to the property ownership of individuals.”
He said that the U.N. committed “crimes against humanity” by advocating for lockdowns around the world in response to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
“In this same house, we that purport to defend human rights, we have also included bloody dictatorships in the Human Rights Council, including Cuba and Venezuela, without reproach,” he said. “In this same house, which purports to defend the rights of women, we’ve allowed on CEDAW, the CEDAW Committee, countries that punish their women just for showing their skin. In this same house that had voted against the State of Israel, which is the only country in the Middle East to defend a liberal democracy, we have simultaneously shown a total inability to respond to the scourge of terrorism.”
“On the economic level, we have promoted collectivist policies that undermine economic growth, violate property rights and disrupt a natural economic process in preventing the most left behind countries to freely enjoy their own resources,” he continued. “[The U.N. has] imposed regulations and prohibitions specifically because of countries that wish to develop themselves. We have further established toxic relationship between global governance and international credit bodies demanding that those countries that are most left behind commit resources that they don’t have to programs that they don’t need, making them perpetual debtors.”
“We have also seen ridiculous policies with Malthusian stances, such as zero emissions policies that harm all poor countries, policies related to sexual and reproductive rights when birth rates in Western countries are plummeting, announcing a somber future for all of us,” he continued. “We have also seen that the veto of the permanent members of the Security Council has begun to be used in the defense of the specific interests of a certain few. That’s where we are today, with a powerless organization, powerless to provide solutions to the true global conflicts.”
He said that the U.N. should be focused on Russia’s criminal war against Ukraine, which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of people being killed, instead of wasting time and money “imposing on poor countries how they should and how much they should produce, who they should do relations with, what they should eat, and what they should believe in.”
“I’d like to issue a warning here,” he said. “We are coming to the end of a cycle, collectivism and the moral posturing and the woke agenda is coming up against reality. There are no further credible solutions to the real problems of the world. If the 2030 agenda fails, as recognized by its own promoters, the response should be to wonder whether or not this was an ill-conceived program from the outset, and we should accept this reality and change what we’re doing.”
“The same thing always happens with ideas that come from the Left,” he continued, noting that leftists “design a model in line with what human beings should do, and when individuals freely decide to act otherwise, they have no better solution than to restrict, repress, or cut off their freedom.”
“In Argentina, we’ve seen with our own eyes what they have done at the end of this path of envy and sad passion: poverty, anarchy, and a total lack of liberty,” he continued. “We still have time to choose another direction. I want to be clear so that there’s no poor misunderstanding here. Argentina is going through a profound process of change currently and has decided to embrace the ideas of freedom. These are ideas that say that all citizens are born free and equal before the law, that we have inalienable rights granted by our Creator to life, to freedom, and to property.”
He said that these new principles the country is adopting will guide its international conduct moving forward.
“We believe in the defense of life for all,” he said. “We believe in the defense of property for all. We believe in freedom of expression for all. We believe in freedom of worship for all. We believe in freedom of trade for all. And we believe in limited government for all. And in these times, what happens in one country has a swift impact on others, and we believe that peoples should be able to live free of tyranny and oppression, be it political oppression, economic slavery, or religious fanaticism. This fundamental idea shouldn’t be mere words. It should be supported by our acts, diplomatically, economically and materially, through the joint force of all of the countries that stand up for freedom.”
He warned that Argentina will no longer support “any policy that implies restricting individual or trade freedoms, nor the violation of natural rights of individuals, regardless of who promotes these or how big the consensus is in this institution.”
“For this reason, I’d like to officially express our dissent on the Pact For The Future that was signed on Sunday, and I invite all nations of the free world to support us, not only in relation to this pact, but also in the establishment of a new agenda for this noble institution,” he concluded. “That is the agenda for freedom. From this day on, you should know that Argentina, the Republic of Argentina, will abandon its policy of historic neutrality, and will be on the vanguard in the struggle for the defense of freedom, because, as Thomas Paine said, ‘Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.’ Long live freedom, dammit!”

Javier Milei Takes Office in Argentina, and His First Move Immediately Triggers All the Right People.

For the first time in decades, Argentina is no longer ruled by socialists. Libertarian-leaning President Javier Milei was officially sworn in on Sunday, marking a major turning point in the country's battle against hyperinflation and economic decline.
In November, Argentina reached 183 percent inflation for 2023, impoverishing around 40 percent of the country, a reality that helped sweep Milei into power. Now, he's taking action, with his first move in office being an executive order that slashes the number of government ministries from 21 to nine. Among those put on the chopping block was the ministry of "women, genders, and diversity," a move he recently telegraphed in his criticisms of "social justice."

https://twitter.com/visegrad24/status/1734023843247690152?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1734023843247690152%7Ctwgr%5E776df673d306c4bf64e61d0f8b0d27745b662ec3%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fredstate.com%2Fbonchie%2F2023%2F12%2F11%2Fjavier-milei-takes-office-in-argentina-and-his-first-move-immediately-triggers-the-press-n2167410

It didn't take long for the hand-wringing to begin in the press. PBS News published an article dripping with sanctimony, claiming that Milei's ideas are "outlandish" and "radical." What makes that so ironic is that the very same article admits that Argentina is in dire straits.
South America's second largest economy is suffering 143 percent annual inflation, the currency has plunged and four in 10 Argentines are impoverished. The nation has a yawning fiscal deficit, a trade deficit of $43 billion, plus a daunting $45 billion debt to the International Monetary Fund, with $10.6 billion due to the multilateral and private creditors by April.
Argentines disillusioned with the economic status quo proved receptive to an outsider's outlandish ideas to remedy their woes and transform the nation.

Let's play this out. Argentina is in the midst of an economic collapse in which its central bank has inflated the currency by triple digits in the last year, and the nation still has no money to pay its international debts. Yet, it's "outlandish" to cut spending and try to tame inflation?
I'd be curious if PBS News ever described the former socialist regime's policies as "outlandish" as they destroyed Argentina's economy and sent nearly half of its residents into poverty. Somehow, I doubt they did.
Still, there are signs that Milei has not given up his radical plans to dismantle the state. Already he has said he will eliminate multiple ministries, including those of culture, environment, women, and science and technology. He wants to meld the ministries of social development, labor and education together under a single ministry of human capital.
Is it radical to "dismantle" a state apparatus that has completely failed the people it is meant to represent? I'd suggest that's the farthest thing from radical. Rather, it strikes me as common sense. What would be radical is continuing to do what brought Argentina to the brink of collapse (and perhaps past it).
Still, Milei will face opposition. Aside from the press, his moves are triggering the unions as well.
Still, he is likely to encounter fierce opposition from the Peronist movement's lawmakers and the unions it controls, whose members have said they refuse to lose wages.
That sounds familiar, doesn't it? Argentina's economy has been driven off a cliff, and the very people who did the driving want to make sure they suffer no consequences. It's going to be a tough haul, and Milei may yet fail simply because of the structural barriers holding necessary change, but I hope he does everything he can to bust the union cartels up.
Argentines have a choice. They can let Milei do the hard work and return their nation to prominence in the long term, or they can turn tail and run back to the socialists the moment things get difficult. Hopefully, they are smart enough to do the former.

The (Canadian) Government Will Kill You Now.
(Well, if you look at it from the ‘government’ POV, clocking you out is MUCH, MUCH more economically feasible than paying out for years to take care of you … free health care does have it’s cost points after all.)

How long will it be before they bring these policies here?

“Fixing” Medicare one patient at a time.
(Medical Assistance in Dying now, or MAID)

Do we live in a post-Christian world? Yes and no. The Western vision of equality, human rights, accountable government, and even contemporary democracy are derived from Christian assumptions. But the faith that once supported those assumptions has waned. What remains are mere professions of values without attempts at justification. Think of Jefferson’s “self-evident” truths in the Declaration of Independence, or the United Nations’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its mere “recognition” of the “inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family,” and so on. Our leaders no longer defend those values with appeals to any religious or metaphysical sentiment—or even to reason. They simply assert, but assertion is not proof.
The Christian moral system is so deeply ingrained in our culture that it is taken for granted, and no alternative to it—or no widely accepted alternative—exists, at least not yet. This fact has both profound and paradoxical implications. It means that people on all sides of a given moral issue have recourse to the same principles. Both advocates and opponents of abortion, pornography, and prostitution, for instance, make similar appeals to dignity, mercy, compassion, and autonomy. Since antagonists invoke the same principles, the debates go on endlessly, the questions remaining unsettled. In time, this confusion will strain our moral system to the breaking point. For a sense of where it will lead, consider Canada’s burgeoning euthanasia regime.
Canadians call it Medical Assistance in Dying now, or “MAID” for short. It began with a 2015 decision by the Supreme Court striking down the nation’s euthanasia ban and discovering a right to assisted suicide in Section 7 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which asserts a universal right to “life, liberty, and security of the person, and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.” Canada’s highest court determined that assisted suicide would be ethical only “with respect to voluntary adults who are competent, informed, grievously and irremediably ill,” and only when it would be “clearly consistent with the patient’s wishes and best interests, and [provided] in order to relieve suffering.” The judges agreed with a lower court’s finding that a system with “properly designed and administered safeguards was capable of protecting vulnerable people from abuse and error.” In 2016, Parliament began passing and amending laws allowing euthanasia.
When critics argued that the ruling would result in euthanasia being offered to the mentally ill, the depressed, those with disabilities, or other vulnerable persons, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dismissed such concerns, saying, “this simply isn’t something that ends up happening.” He was wrong. In 2021, Parliament removed the law’s previous requirement that a person’s natural death must be imminently foreseeable for him to elect suicide. Reports immediately began circulating of physicians pushing MAID on people who had suffered strokes or other survivable challenges. These people were isolated and depressed in many cases, but hardly at death’s door. In one alarming instance, a 71-year-old widower was admitted to hospital after a fall. He contracted infectious diarrhea in hospital, where he was humiliated by staff for the smell of his room. Staff claimed that he had end-stage COPD and offered him MAID; he took their advice and was euthanized within 48 hours of his first assessment. A post-mortem examination, however, proved that he did not have end-stage COPD.
The expanded MAID policy did not distinguish between medical infirmities and avoidable suffering caused by neglect or poverty. Bioethicists Kayla Wiebe and Amy Mullin contended that Canada should not deny people assisted suicide if living conditions make their lives intolerable. Physicians have offered MAID to people who cannot afford housing or find proper medical care. A rogue bureaucrat within Canada’s department of veterans affairs offered MAID to an elderly veteran struggling to make ends meet; the matter was turned over to the police.
Canada’s euthanasia regime has grown rapidly since 2021. According to the Fourth Annual Report on Medical Assistance in Dying in Canada 2022, “the most commonly cited sources of suffering by individuals requesting MAID were the loss of ability to engage in meaningful activities (86.3%), followed by loss of ability to perform activities of daily living (81.9%) and inadequate control of pain, or concern about controlling pain (59.2%).”
More than 13,000 people in Canada were euthanized in 2022, an annual rise of 31.2 percent since 2021. In 2022, 4.1 percent of all deaths in the country were the result of euthanasia; MAID could now be listed as the nation’s fifth-leading cause of death. Nearly 45,000 people have been euthanized since 2016, when Parliament first introduced MAID legislation. This number will keep rising as stigma disappears and MAID advocates continue to push for relaxed standards. The Canadian government seems to be on board with that agenda, as it reportedly plans to make MAID available to anorexics and drug users.
The slippery-slope argument that Trudeau scoffed at has proved true. Simons, a Canadian fashion company, released a disturbing advertisement presenting 37-year-old Jennyfer Hatch’s decision to die as a posh lifestyle choice. A funeral home in Montreal notably offers a $700 “turnkey” package of MAID and funeral. Vulnerable people are told, in so many words, that their lives are not worth living. I hesitate to draw a parallel with the concept of Lebensunwertes Leben, or “life unworthy of life,” but that was the Nazis’ excuse for killing the infirm and mentally ill. We should know where Canada’s policy can lead because we have seen it before.
In Canada, patients can wait years for medical treatment in the country’s overburdened and underfunded health-care system. The baby boomer population, as it ages, will only increase the strain on the medical system, the welfare state, and the Canada Pension Plan. A 2017 study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal suggested euthanasia could save the country between $34.7 million and $138.8 million annually, a “substantial savings,” the authors said. Is this why the government is eager to expand MAID?
The notion that we have a right, and perhaps an obligation, to die when we become a financial or other “burden” to others is profoundly wrong. It is founded upon hyper-individualism and a misunderstanding of family and community. A person can be considered a burden only if society ceases to believe in mutual commitment and communal support. Canada’s MAID regime is the inevitable consequence of the emergence of such an asocial non-society.
We already live in a world in which the lives of elderly, poor, sick, depressed, and disabled people are easily overlooked. If we go further down the dark road of MAID, we will find ourselves in a truly post-Christian civilization in which their lives are seen as having no value at all.

Tribal Chief Is ‘Interested In Reclaiming’ Ancestral Land Where Ben & Jerry’s HQ Now Stands.

Ben & Jerry’s headquarters is located on land originally controlled by a Native American tribe in Vermont, and the chief of this tribe expressed interest in reclaiming the property on Friday.
Ben & Jerry’s marked Independence Day on Tuesday by tweeting that the U.S. should “commit to returning” land to Native Americans.

In response, Don Stevens, chief of the Nulhegan Band of The Coosuk Abenaki Nation said his tribe would be willing to take back the land currently owned by Ben & Jerry’s, according to Newsweek.
“We are always interested in reclaiming the stewardship of our lands throughout our traditional territories and providing opportunities to uplift our communities,” Stevens told Newsweek in an interview. However, Stevens added that Ben & Jerry’s has not approached him with any offers to return the land back to his tribe.
Stevens’ tribe is part of the Nulhegan band which formerly controlled a large portion of New England. When the Europeans moved onto their land, the band was infected with diseases that forced them to move to what is now Canada, according to Newsweek.
In a statement, Ben & Jerry’s claims that the best place to start returning land to Native Americans  is Mount Rushmore. They call for the United States to return the South Dakota land to the Lakota Sioux.
“From there, in 1927, they watched as their holy mountain, now located on land known as South Dakota, was desecrated and dynamited to honor their colonizers, four white men—two of whom enslaved people and all of whom were hostile to Indigenous people and values,” the statement reads.
Ben & Jerry’s hasn’t yet publicly responded to Steven’s comments.
Ben & Jerry’s did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Biden Reelection Video Fails to Mention a Single First-term Accomplishment.
President Joe Biden launched his reelection bid on Tuesday with the release of a new video that fails to name a single achievement in his first term, nor any plan for what he might hope to achieve in his second term.
Instead, the video dwells on abortion (“personal freedom”), as well as “MAGA extremists,” whom the country must defeat in what Biden calls a “battle for the soul of our nation,” repeating a theme from his 2020 campaign.
The only hints at any kind of first-term achievement are images of Biden’s nomination of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.
The video does not mention economic policy, nor foreign policy, nor challenges like inflation or the border. It is focused on oblique references to abortion and attacks on “MAGA extremists.”
You can watch the video and read the full, annotated transcript at this link:

(I remember posting about this on Fecesbook and getting suspended for 7 days … F#*K Fecesbook. The last image is one I posted on Fecesbook, lol)
Fact Check: Was Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dad a Nazi Sergeant?
The Verdict: True … and more.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has criticized anyone failing to follow the regulations designed to slow the spread of COVID-19 telling them "Screw your freedom."
Schwarzenegger made the comments in a video interview with CNN journalist Bianna Golodryga to discuss Here, Right Matters, a new memoir by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman.
He said: "There is a virus here. It kills people, and the only way we prevent it is get vaccinated, get masks, do social distancing, washing your hands all the time and not just to think about, 'Well, my freedom is being kind of disturbed here. No, screw your freedom."
"Yeah, you have the freedom to wear no mask, but you know something: You're a schmuck for not wearing a mask because you're supposed to protect your fellow members around you," he added. "It's just that simple."
The Claim:
Alt-right political activist and senior editor at the conservative publication Human Events Jack Posobiec shared a link to the actor's comments tweeting: "Arnold Schwarzenegger's father was a member of Hitler's Brownshirts and served as a 1st Sgt in the Wehrmacht."
Posobiec's claim has been retweeted more than 3,000 times and liked over 6,500 times on Twitter, with celebrity bodybuilder and entrepreneur Marc Lobliner among those to share the tweet, writing "I lost all respect for Arnold during the lockdowns."
His message was retweeted a further 400 times and liked more than 1,000 times on the platform. Journalist Jordan Schachtel also alluded to the claim in a tweet writing "People with family ties to actual Nazis should think more before they speak." His message was liked and shared more than 1,200 times on Twitter.
The Facts:
Arnold Schwarzenegger's father, Gustav, was indeed a Nazi.
Growing up in the small village of Thal in Austria, Schwarzenegger knew very little about his father, who worked as a police officer and postal inspector there.
Gustav passed away in 1972 but in the late 1980s newspaper reports emerged claiming he was a member of the Nazi party.
In July 1990, Schwarzenegger approached Rabbi Marvin Hier at the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish civil rights organization based in Los Angeles, and asked him to conduct an investigation into his father's role in the Second World War.
The two month-long investigation uncovered that Gustav had applied for membership in the Nazi Party in 1938, just before Germany annexed Austria, and was accepted three years later in 1941.
However the Wiesenthal Center found no evidence to suggest Schwarzenegger's father had been part of the Sturmabteilungen (SA) or the Schutzstaffel (SS).
That was how the situation remained until August 2003 when, ahead of his run for Governor of California, an LA Times investigation uncovered documents in the Austrian State Archives in Vienna showing Gustav was more heavily involved in Hitler's regime than previously thought.
The documents showed that Gustav Schwarzenegger had been a member of the SA, otherwise known as the storm troopers or brownshirts, having joined on May 1, 1939, six months prior to "Kristallnacht", or the "Night of the Broken Glass", when Jewish homes, businesses and places of worship were attacked across Germany and Austria.
Thousands of Jewish people were removed from their homes and taken to concentration camps in the ensuing chaos, with the SA playing a prominent role in much of what unfolded.
The documents also revealed that Gustav served in the Unified Armed Forces of the Nazi Party, known as the Wehrmacht, and fought in some of the most brutal theaters of the war including the invasions of Poland and France as well as the siege of Leningrad.
While the report noted there was no way of knowing the role played by Schwarzenegger's father, Holocaust scholar Michael Berenbaum noted that Gustav appeared to have been "in the thick of the battle during the most difficult times" in conflicts where some of "most horrific military and nonmilitary killings" took place.
Gustav Schwarzenegger later rose to the rank of master sergeant with the Feldgendarmerie, the military police, who often served as combat troops deployed on the frontline to suppress civilians from marching on the advancing German forces.
The LA Times research also uncovered papers that found that Gustav was allowed to return to work in the postwar state in 1947 after no specific war crimes were attributed to him.
The Wiesenthal Center later explained that it had failed to uncover much of the new evidence because the records accessed by the LA Times remained sealed until 2002—30 years after Gustav's death.
