Louisiana Gov pardons 40 convicted murders before leaving office.

With crime out of control in Louisiana, the Democratic governor decided to release 40 convicted murderers before leaving office, among others. He’s issuing pardons because he believes their prisons are overpopulated.
Some of these murders were quite violent, with eleven of them being in the first degree.

Louisiana’s outgoing Democratic governor pardoned 40 convicted murderers since October including one of whom had been on death row and another who fatally stabbed a woman 39 times.
Gov. John Bel Edwards has been on a mission to help Louisiana lose the title of being the World’s Prison Capital and has signed the pardons to release 56 total convicts in five separate batches.
Edwards, whose term ends on Jan 8. 2024, campaigned to reduce the state’s prison population and is attempting to see some results in his final weeks in office.
The Pelican State governor began signing his pardons on Oct. 11 with his latest coming on Dec. 19, while future orders could be announced after the holidays, according to KTSB.
Eleven of the 40 jailed murderers were convicted in the first degree, or those who killed a human being with the specific intent to kill or inflict great bodily harm and engaged in the preparation of the crimes that led to the killing.
Ricky Washington, 65, was found guilty of fatally shooting a grocery store owner during an armed robbery in Shreveport in 1979, according to KTBS.
Owner Grady Haynes was behind the counter of YQ Grocery and was shot once in the back of the head by Washington who was using a .32-caliber handgun, according to the case brief.
Washington faced the death penalty, but the jury was unable to come to a unanimous decision, which forced the case’s judge to rule he be sentenced to life behind bars.
Another pardon involved a man who fatally stabbed a woman nearly 40 times.
Nick Charles Nicholson, who also received a pardon, was found guilty of fatally stabbing convenience store worker Kelly Ann Gramm in 1981.
Gramm was discovered with 39 stabbed wounds across her body, and a broken tip of a knife lodged in her skull, the outlet reported.
Nicholson, 60, was arrested after police found him in his car with blood on his clothes and a cash register sitting next to him.
He also faced the death penalty but was sentenced to life in prison.
Edwards is being succeeded by Republican Jeff Landry. Hopefully he’ll be able to do a better job on crime for the state than Edwards.

It may be entirely possible in Illinois now for a police officer to demand to see your papers for identity compliance even though that police officer may be an illegal alien who broke U.S. law to enter the United States.
Under a bill recently signed by Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker, illegal aliens can now become police officers. The downstream ramifications of this effort are not difficult to imagine.
As if the crisis of confidence in the U.S. legal and law enforcement system was not under enough pressure, the reality of lawbreaking foreign nationals and border crossers now controlling law enforcement is a rather remarkable escalation in social fracture.
NewsWeek – […] The measure—House Bill 3751—successfully passed the Democratic-controlled state House and the state Senate before being signed into law by the Democratic governor last week. The bill, which will come into force on January 1, 2024, allows eligible immigrants who are not in possession of U.S. citizenship to join law enforcement in Illinois—something that federal laws currently forbid.
[…] Eligible non-U.S. citizens are subject “to all requirements and limitations, other than citizenship, to which other applicants are subject,” and must be able to obtain, carry, purchase, or otherwise possess a firearm under federal law.
Foreign nationals “against whom the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services have deferred immigration action under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process” will also be eligible, according to the bill’s text.
That means that individuals who came to the country illegally as children and received a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation—known as the DACA process—will be able to apply to become police officers in Illinois. DACA recipients are protected from deportation and have a work permit, though the program does not grant them official legal status.
The 2024 Democrat National Convention will take place in Chicago.

The only senator trying to rein in the federal beast before we inevitably have a supreme emperor and gulags just so happens to have his office go up in flames.
The Bowling Green office of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was engulfed in flames in an overnight fire, officials have confirmed. No injuries were reported.
The Bowling Green Fire Department arrived at the scene around 1:45 a.m. following reports of a significant fire at the downtown location, which serves as Paul’s local office. Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire upon their arrival and called for additional units, according to Public Information Officer Katie McKee.
A total of 31 personnel, not including two deputy chiefs and Bowling Green Fire Chief Justin Brooks responded to the scene.
The building housed several key offices including that of Senator Rand Paul, the law firm Kerrick Bachert, and Dezign Tees, a popular local business. The fire spread to other nearby buildings downtown, according to Bowling Greene Daily News.
McKee confirmed the collapse of the roof and outlined the challenges firefighters faced while battling the blaze.
Several large tree limbs in front of Sen. Rand Paul’s office had to be cut so a hose could reach the 2nd floor windows. Six units worked to extinguish the flames, with firefighters manning the aerials of trucks 1 and 6 to get at the fire from above.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, which remains unknown. It is still unclear which building the fire first began.
In a statement to BG Daily News, Sen. Paul said, ““We are thankful for the Bowling Green first responders who arrived quickly to the scene to put out the fire, and are continuing to work with authorities to assess damages and to determine a cause.”
“We have a very well established emergency management plan and have the ability to continue operations that will not impact our work helping Kentuckians.”

Robert Kennedy Jr House Hearing Turns Into A Roman Circus

After hours of hearings the past several weeks, this one on censorship will not be forgotten. Those of us who rode it out were witness to a circus the likes of which has not seen in a long time. Ostensibly the hearing was on censorship of which the Dems were clear that they were all in.
The Dems had Stacey Plaskett, delegate from the Virgin Islands, as Ranking Member. One would never know she can’t even vote in regular session. Debbie Wasserman Schultz forced a vote to send the hearing into executive session, thus closing it down. Fortunately there were enough GOPers hanging around. As I recall the vote was 10-8 to continue open session. Included here are a few minutes of Kennedy’s remarks in response to the attacks. A comment:
“Dear liberal voters, wanna see what the beginning of a dystopian America looks like? Watch Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz smear RFK Jr as a racist and antisemite! The FACT IS, different ethnicities DO respond differently to diseases! Truth is now banned?” (Just take a course in Medical Anthropology, which was my interest, the facts are well documented)

Hundreds of pages from the IRS investigation that led to a plea deal on Tuesday for Hunter Biden have been released by Republican lawmakers, and it looks like the Biden Crime Family has been caught RED-handed!
Sandra Smith of Fox News reported on the explosive revelation by the IRS whistleblowers – On Tuesday, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor tax violations following an IRS investigation. Last month IRS supervisory special agent Gary Shapely, who announced his name publicly, gave testimony for hours behind closed doors and said, “The Department of Justice, where I am slow, slow-walked the investigation,” and made his job difficult. He has since been removed from that probe. Now we’re seeing what he said in his testimony, and in one section that stands out, it relates to now President Joe Biden; according to Shapely, he saw a WhatsApp message sent by Hunter Biden to a Chinese businessman in 2017.
“We obtained a July 30, 2017, WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao, where Hunter Biden wrote, ‘I am sitting here with my father, and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the Director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight!'”
House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith shared a stunning thread on Twitter explaining the testimony of Gary Shapely, who has now been removed from the Hunter Biden investigation after he went public as a whistleblower with evidence to prove President Biden was indeed, reportedly involved in Hunter Biden shaking down a Chinese official.
