Slums To Replace Affluent Homes Destroyed By California Fires

The devastating wildfires that local authorities allowed to get out of control in California last winter were not so much a crisis as an opportunity to accelerate the transformation of the erstwhile Golden State in accordance with Democrat objectives:
Six months after the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires, California Gov. Gavin Newsom unveiled $101 million in funding Tuesday for “multifamily low-income housing development” that will “contribute to a more equitable and resilient Los Angeles.” The priority is for “geographic proximity to the fire perimeters of the Eaton, Hughes, and Palisades fires.”

Democrat rule means gentrification in reverse:
California state law and a local Los Angeles ordinance require fire-destroyed rent-protected housing, which includes all apartments in the city built before October 1978, be replaced with low-income housing. Because the affordability requirements use county-level income data, not more local incomes, definitions for “low” and “very low” income housing reflect much lower incomes than the norm for the affluent Palisades community.
Barks Jennifer Seeger, the HCD deputy director of the Division of State Financial Assistance:
“The Multifamily Finance Super NOFA – Los Angeles Disaster (MFSN-LA Disaster) makes funds more accessible to support the development of safe, fire-resilient multifamily low-income housing that will provide long-term stability, protect vulnerable populations, and contribute to a more equitable and resilient Los Angeles.”
What a beautiful locale to build an equitable slum at public expense.
To qualify as Supportive Housing Multifamily Housing, a project must provide at least 40% of its units for the homeless, or individuals who have spent at least 15 days in “jails, hospitals, prisons, and institutes of mental disease.”
Those who don’t want to live in that kind of neighborhood will get out, leaving behind a higher percentage of government dependents to guarantee the election of still more radical leftists. California has succumbed to the Democrat Death Spiral.

Over 300 Illegals Arrested At Gavin’s Weed Growing Donors Farms

It’s being reported by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin that the ICE raid at two marijuana farms in California this week netted well over 300 illegals arrested.
Melugin says this is the second biggest raid in ICE history and the largest of Trump’s second term, only to be outdone by another ICE raid in Trump’s first term.

California Cannabis Farm Under Federal Investigation For ‘Child Labor Violations'

9 unaccompanied children rescued as protesters clash with authorities at Glass House Farms facilities.
The President of Glass House Farms, the cannabis farm that federal immigration authorities raided in California on Thursday despite protests, has donated thousands to Democrats in California.
Co-founder, president, and board director Graham Farrar, who self-identifies on social media as residing in Santa Barbara, California, has made numerous political donations to the Santa Barbara County Democratic Central Committee’s federal political action committee and Rep. Salud Carbajal, D-Calif., according to Federal Election Commission records.
According to California public campaign finance records, he also donated $10,000 to California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2018, and his most recent public political donation was to California Democratic Assembly member Gregg Hart in July 2023.
Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott tweeted that the farm is "now under investigation for child labor violations" and the Department of Homeland Security told Fox News on Friday that nine unaccompanied children in the U.S. illegally were rescued.
"So glad our law enforcement could rescue another child," DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated.

Glass House Brands said in a statement that they complied with the federal warrants issued.
"Yesterday, Glass House Brands received immigration and naturalization warrants. As per the law, we verified that the warrants were valid and we complied. Workers were detained and we are assisting to provide them legal representation," the company tweeted.
"Glass House has never knowingly violated applicable hiring practices and does not and has never employed minors. We do not expect this to affect operations moving forward. We will provide additional details when applicable."
On Thursday, protesters clashed with federal authorities in Camarillo during an immigration operation. Federal authorities had a warrant for illegal employees, Fox News has learned. Another raid also occurred at another Glass House Farm in Carpinteria.
In addition, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli said the FBI has offered a $50,000 award for information leading to the conviction of an unknown suspect who appeared to fire a pistol at federal law enforcement officers near Camarillo.

Highway 1 is closed and evacuations were ordered in Moss Landing and the Elkhorn Slough area after a major fire erupted Thursday afternoon at a battery storage plant in Moss Landing in northern Monterey County.
The fire, which was raging out of control Thursday night, sending up huge flames and clouds of VERY TOXIC HEAVY METAL BLACK SMOKE, was reported around 3 p.m. at the plant, located on Highway 1, Monterey County spokesman Nicholas Pasculli said.
Evacuations of about 1,500 people were ordered for areas of Moss Landing south of Elkhorn Slough, north of Molera Road and Monterey Dunes Way, and west of Castroville Boulevard and Elkhorn Road to the ocean, he said.
