NO ! It Wasn't Climate Change !

Police arrest 19 year-old over massive New Jersey fire.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on arson charges for the massive fire that burned thousands of acres in New Jersey earlier this week, law enforcement announced Thursday.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office charged Joseph Kling on Wednesday with aggravated arson with the purpose of destroying the forest and arson over the blaze that has burned around 15,000 acres in Ocean County. The fire prompted thousands of evacuations and led to a state of emergency being declared.
Kling was determined by law enforcement to be the “individual responsible for setting wooden pallets on fire – and then leaving the area without the fire being fully extinguished,” Ocean County prosecutors said. Kling, from Watertown, is currently behind bars at the Ocean County Jail. The county has posted no information about when Kling will appear in court.
On Wednesday, Lacey Township Mayor Peter Curatolo said that the fire may “very well end up being the largest wildfire in New Jersey in 20 years.”
The forest service also announced that the blaze had been 50% contained.
There have been no reported deaths or loss of homes from the fire, though at least one commercial building was destroyed alongside multiple vehicles and outbuildings.
The investigation involved Ocean County’s Major Crime Unit-Arson Squad, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, and the New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Good news from New Jersey, of all places.

You may or may not remember the gym in New Jersey who declined to allow their business to be destroyed by draconian covid lockdowns. They persevered through fines, having their business boarded up, being arrested, having their license revoked, having their business assets seized by the state, and anything other crap the local and state government could throw at them to make them knuckle under.
They ended up with $1.2 million in fines.

Feds Charge Black Marine For Plotting To Kill ‘Privileged’ White People.

'The reason I specifically want to target white people is because as a black male, they will NEVER understand my struggles.'
A black man from New Jersey was charged in federal court with threats after allegedly planning a mass murder of white people, who he said were privileged.
In December 2022, federal prosecutors say Joshua Cobb wrote online that he wanted “to cause mayhem on the white community,” according to court records filed late last week.
“The reason i specifically want to target white people is because as a black male, they will NEVER understand my struggles,” Cobb wrote, according to the prosecutors. “Same way I will never understand their struggles, but I don’t care to. I want to erase them. All of them really, but in this case as many as I possibly can.” Cobb added that he had “officially began planning my attack” to occur in New Jersey during “an important holiday to their race,” and that he had “already acquired 2 of the 4 firearms I plan to use for my attack.”
The next year, Cobb attended Marine Corps basic training in South Carolina. He was stationed at the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California this year.
In April 2024, FBI agents interviewed Cobb on base and he “provided detailed information on three locations he chose as possible targets for his attack,” and said he “continued to have homicidal ideations and still harbored feelings of contempt towards those whom he perceived as privileged white people.”
Cobb was arrested Friday, May 10, and was also discharged from the Marine Corps that day, according to court affidavits. He was charged with transmitting threats in interstate commerce, which could bring up to five years in prison. According to court records, he is being held in jail and is represented by a public defender.
He allegedly told investigators that one location he targeted was a gym or a grocery store, where “you just see all these f—ing rich-ass white people,” or simply a “rich white area and just like start shooting. That was like all my little ideologies.”
He said he had access to weapons through “my boy” since “it’s no secret guns are in bad areas.”
When the FBI told him it was confiscating his cell phone, he said, “this is why people like me shoot people.”
The military has struggled with recruiting and talent after the Biden administration fought efforts to promote based on merit rather than race.
It was slated to spend $270 million on DEI programs over three years, and has faced severely waning interest from white, blue-collar men as the military put on events like drag shows.
Perhaps no federal agency has embraced radical and divisive rhetoric as the Department of Veterans Affairs, even though its workforce is disproportionately black. The agency said, pursuant to a Joe Biden equity directive, that it wants more black veterans to be declared mentally disabled so that they could receive government checks — even though black vets already get those disability checks at twice the rates of whites.

The Arc Of The Renewables Universe Is Long, But It Bends Toward Bankruptcy.

Ørsted, a major player in the offshore wind development sector, has decided to pull the plug on its Ocean Wind 1 and Ocean Wind 2 projects off the coast of New Jersey. Citing “escalated financial difficulties and supply chain issues”.
Ørsted’s decision brings to light the tumultuous waters that renewable energy projects are now starting to regularly encounter.
“Macroeconomic factors have changed dramatically over a short period of time, with high inflation, rising interest rates, and supply chain bottlenecks impacting our long-term capital investments,” said David Hardy, group executive vice president and CEO Americas at Ørsted. This statement reflects the vulnerability of such grandiose renewable projects to economic fluctuations and logistical nightmares.
The cancellation of these projects is not just a setback for Ørsted but also dents the ambitious renewable energy goals of the United States. It came shortly after the Biden administration announced the final approval of the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project, which was touted as a significant milestone in the U.S. renewable energy landscape.
Local officials and communities in New Jersey, who had been at loggerheads with Ørsted and other state and federal agencies, welcomed this decision. They had been voicing their concerns and opposition against the potential impacts of the Ocean Wind 1 project.
“This is a great day for the people and businesses of Cape May County,” said Len Desiderio, director of the Cape May County Board of Commissioners, reflecting the relief and vindication felt by the local communities.
Despite this setback, Ørsted continues to express its commitment to the U.S. renewable energy market.
“We remain committed to the U.S. renewable energy market, building clean power that will create jobs across technologies and states from the Northeast to Texas,”
Hardy said. However, the abandonment of the New Jersey projects raises questions about the feasibility and practicality of such commitments in the face of economic and logistical uncertainties.
Ørsted’s decision to abandon its wind projects off New Jersey is a stark reminder of the unpredictable and challenging nature of renewable energy projects. It underscores the need for a more realistic and pragmatic approach towards planning and executing all energy projects, putting engineering and economics ahead of political dictates, taking into consideration the various economic, logistical, and community-related factors that can impact their success.

Cause it’s just the right thing to do …

(Seriously though, The Tuckahoe Inn has sat on the Great Egg Harbor Bay for decades, and in that time it has become one of the most talked-about waterfront restaurants in New Jersey. P.S. From the pictures on the website, I could survive the rest of my live on their Oysters Rockefeller.)
