Nancy Mace Launches Campaign For South Carolina Governor

Firebrand Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace launched her bid for South Carolina governor on Monday, joining what’s quickly becoming a crowded field in the Palmetto State.
Mace joins Rep. Ralph Norman, Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, and state senator Josh Kimbrell in the 2026 Republican primary. The congresswoman addressed her supporters at an early morning rally at her alma mater, The Citadel military college, where she announced her run for governor.
“I’m running for governor because South Carolina doesn’t need another empty suit. It needs a governor who will fight for you and your values,” Mace said. “South Carolina needs a governor who will drag the truth into sunlight and flip the tables if that’s what it takes.”
“I’ve walked into firestorms, and I’ve come out swinging,” she added.
Incumbent South Carolina Republican Gov. Henry McMaster, who has served since 2017, will be term-limited from running again in the November 2026 election.
In a video Mace posted on X Monday morning, the Republican emphasized how she has drawn the ire of both Democrats and Republicans and showed clips of President Donald Trump praising her in the past.

https://x.com/NancyMace/status/1952331263710203935

“When she sets her sight on something, she’s tough,” Trump said of Mace.
The relationship between the 47-year-old congresswoman and Trump, however, has been rocky. In 2022, Trump endorsed Mace’s primary opponent, Katie Arrington, after Mace said that Trump’s “entire legacy was wiped out” following the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Mace came out on top in the 2022 primary and secured a second term in the House. She won again in 2024 and is currently serving her third term.
Mace has focused much of her attention on fighting to keep trans-identifying men out of women’s bathrooms. She recently got in a fight over women’s bathrooms with Delaware Democratic Rep. Sarah McBride, a man who identifies as a woman. Shortly after McBride was elected, Mace introduced a resolution banning men from women’s facilities in Congress. McBride agreed not to use women’s bathrooms on Capitol Hill after House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) issued a mandate, saying, “Women deserve women’s only spaces.”
Mace is well-known on Capitol Hill for her self-assertive nature and her knack for diving into the middle of controversy.

Governor DeSantis Is Pushing To Kill Property Taxes In Florida

Governor Ron DeSantis is doing what most politicians only talk about: dismantling the tax-and-steal state, one layer at a time.
His recent push to abolish property taxes in Florida is more than smart policy, it’s a declaration of economic freedom. It sends a clear message to businesses, families, and freedom-minded Americans across the country: Florida is open for liberty.
Florida already thrives without a state income tax, and now DeSantis is going for the jugular, ending the most immoral form of taxation still standing in America: the property tax.
While Florida does not have an estate tax or inheritance tax, it does have a 0.71 percent effective property tax rate on owner-occupied housing value, which is reassessed each year on January 1st. According to data tracked by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, home values in Florida have steadily increased, going back as far as this statistic has been tracked, 1975, with just one notable exception. That exception was during and immediately following the national housing collapse that began in 2007. Values started to increase again just four years later when the market recovered in 2012.
This means that for 45 of the past 50 years, homeowners’ taxes on homes they’ve already purchased have continually increased.
Think about it. You never truly own your home. Miss a few payments to the government, and they’ll seize your property. That’s not freedom, that’s rent to the state. Property taxes are nothing more than a relic of feudalism, a tool used to keep working-class Americans tethered to an ever-growing government.
It’s true that property taxes in Florida still rank below the national average, which currently stands at 0.90%, and as a result, the median annual property tax bills in the Sunshine State follow suit, as its $2,386 mark is about $600 cheaper than the U.S. median. But simply being “cheaper” isn’t necessarily good because these costs still negatively impact Florida residents. Especially in today’s economy, where citizens are already stretched thin, financially speaking, by higher overall costs than we faced in previous years, which are caused largely by the Biden administration’s failed fiscal policies.
You can retire. You can pay off your mortgage. But if you stop paying property taxes, the government comes for your land. That’s not just theft, it’s tyranny.
From a pro-liberty perspective, property taxes violate the very foundation of individual liberty and private property rights. If true ownership is the cornerstone of a free society, then no government has the moral authority to charge citizens for the right to live on land they’ve already purchased.

These taxes create a cycle of dependence, forcing families to make economic decisions based not on freedom, but on appeasing their local tax assessors. They empower bureaucrats to control how land is used, developed, or even retained within families from one generation to the next.
This isn’t just politicians or intellectual-types spewing philosophy and red meat to the base; this is an issue that smart, liberty-focused Republicans throughout the country are pushing through and gaining traction with.
Don Huffines, who ran his Texas gubernatorial campaign and spearheaded the conversation surrounding abolishing the property tax, is now leading in the polls in his comptroller race.
If Texas and Florida lead the way on this, other red states will absolutely follow in their footsteps, I guarantee it.
Abolishing property taxes shifts that balance of power back where it belongs, to the individual. It forces governments to be leaner, more accountable, and more respectful of personal property.
It restores the idea that what you earn and build is yours, not subject to forfeiture because of bloated spending agendas.
It also puts hard-earned money back into the hands of Florida residents, where it rightly belongs, which means that it goes back into the economy in the form of spending, savings, or investments. This spurs further growth and prosperity in the free market instead of being wasted in a bloated and inefficient bureaucracy.
With a median household income in Florida of $71,711, eliminating that $2,386 tax bill represents an instant 3% cost savings every year going forward with no effort on the part of homeowners. Even if that money was just put into a boring and stable index fund, it would produce $136,085.40 in additional wealth over the course of twenty years thanks to the power of compounding.
This bold reform doesn’t just abolish and kill an unnecessary tax; it completely puts into question the role of government in people’s minds. All it takes is political courage.
DeSantis has already shown he’s not afraid to take on the woke mob or the federal swamp. Now he has a chance to lead the next great fiscal revolution: ending the government's ability to tax you for simply owning what you worked your whole life to build.

Governor "Hot Wheels"

I said the other day that Abbott should embrace it and "Roll" with it. We conservatives have always turned their insults into rallying cries (deplorables is one). Don't let this one go to waste.

Byron Donalds Announces Candidacy For Florida Governor In 2026

Donald’s gubernatorial bid has been endorsed by President Donald Trump. If successful Donalds, 46, would become the first black governor of Florida.
Before being elected to Congress in 2020, Donalds spent four years in the Florida House, the last two coinciding with Gov. Ron DeSantis’ first two years as governor. Although the two were considered allies at that time, their relationship appeared to change after Donalds endorsed Trump over DeSantis for president in 2023 and became a major surrogate for the Trump campaign.
"We have a great governor. Ron DeSantis has done a tremendous job for our state," Donalds said on Fox News' "Hannity" Tuesday night. "But now the job is to keep the best state in the country as the best state in the country. And so that's going to be the mission at hand. And I'm excited to announce my candidacy with you tonight."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqUZ6t-254Y

Born in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, the middle of three children raised by a single mother, Donalds is a graduate of Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and marketing in 2002. He has worked at TIB Bank, CMG Life Services, and Moran Wealth in Naples.
Donalds entered politics as part of the Tea Party movement and ran for the U.S. House of Representatives for Florida's 19th congressional district in 2012. He finished fifth, out of six candidates. In 2016, he ran for the Florida House of Representatives and won, replacing retiring incumbent Francis Rooney to represent Hendry County and east Collier County in the State Capitol.
In 2020, Donalds succeeded in getting elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for the 19th district and was re-elected in 2022.
Donalds’ rough background and hard-core conservatism have made him a GOP rising star.  Donalds has described himself as a "Trump-supporting, liberty-loving, pro-life, pro-Second Amendment Black man."
Donalds has supported and promoted Trump, frequently appearing with him at public events, including the Daytona 500 earlier this month. After the race, he posted on X, "It was an honor to join President Trump aboard Air Force One & at The Great American Race.”

(And as what I would count in the win column for Byron, Democrat lunatic Nikki Fried has criticized him repeatedly,)

In a statement released after Donalds' announcement, Florida Democratic Party Nikki Fried called him a "dangerous political opportunist who should be nowhere near the governor’s mansion.
“One of the least popular people in Tallahassee politics, Byron is best known for skipping votes, defending insurrectionists, and promoting a revisionist version of Black history that defends Jim Crow," Fried said. "He has little political experience and no executive experience, and is completely unqualified to run the state of Florida.
(Donalds has denied the Jim Crow accusations, saying that while it was true marriage rates for Black Americans were higher at the time, it didn't mean he thought Jim Crow was "great.”)
“Byron is only interested in power, and he won’t fix our property insurance crisis or bring down the cost of living for Floridians. He only has a shot at the nomination because Trump endorsed him, and Trump is only endorsing him because he wants a puppet in the governor’s mansion — pissing off Ron DeSantis is an added bonus.”
At an event in Pennsylvania in June last year, Donalds drew outrage for saying that more Black people were married during the Jim Crow years when rights for Black people were severely restricted.
"You see, during Jim Crow, the black family was together," Donalds said. "During Jim Crow, more black people were not just conservative, black people have always been conservative-minded, but more black people voted conservatively. And then, HEW (Department of Health, Education, and Welfare created in the 1950s), Lyndon Johnson, and then you go down that road, and now we are where we are."
Donalds lives in Naples with his wife, Erika, and their three sons: Damon, Darin, and Mason. Donalds was previously married to Bisa Hall for three years.

Arrest record.

When Donalds was 18, after a party at his apartment, he was arrested for possession of marijuana. Two years later, a female acquaintance convinced him he could make a thousand dollars by depositing a bad check. “I was desperate, I was out of money, I didn’t have a job, my rent was overdue."
Donalds has since made restitution to the bank for about seven times the original amount but the state pressed bribery charges in 2000. The charges were later expunged. The 1997 marijuana charge was dismissed as part of a pre-trial diversion program.
“My pastor always says that everybody in life is 15 seconds away from stupid," Donalds said, "but when you’re desperate, you’re three seconds away. And I was desperate.”
Donalds has been open about these arrests during his campaigns and has said they are a tale of sin and atonement that make him uniquely qualified to serve others.
In 2020 a complaint was filed alleging that Donalds did not disclose his previous arrests on several applications, including one to sell securities and a 2014 application to serve on the board of Florida SouthWestern State College. Donalds maintained that since the bribery charges were expunged, they no longer existed and he had no reason to disclose them.
After reviewing the complaint, the Florida Ethics Commission dismissed it, finding it lacked legal sufficiency.

Ramaswamy Planning To Run For Ohio Governor

Incoming Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) co-chair Vivek Ramaswamy is planning his next political move, according to several reports on Friday.
Ramaswamy will run for governor of Ohio, as current Gov. Mike DeWine is term-limited after serving two consecutive four-year stints. Just the News reported that Ramaswamy is expected to announce his bid soon after DeWine Lt. Gov. Jon Husted to replace Vice President-elect JD Vance in the Senate.
“Vivek’s base plan remains [the] same: to get accomplishments at DOGE and then announce a run for governor shortly,” an Ohio operative familiar with Ramaswamy’s thinking who requested anonymity to speak more freely, told Fox News on Friday.
Before the Senate announcement, Husted had long planned to run for governor in 2026 to succeed DeWine, but those plans appear to have changed now.
The 39-year-old Ramaswamy, who is a native of Ohio, launched his presidential campaign in February 2023 and has risen from a long-shot candidate to a serious contender for the Republican nomination.
Ramaswamy campaigned on what he referred to as an “America First 2.0” agenda and was one of Trump’s staunchest supporters among the field of rivals, praising Trump as the “most successful president in our century.” Notably, he refrained from ever directly criticizing now-President-elect Donald Trump during his campaign.
Ohio was once a solid battleground state but has shifted decidedly red over the past decade, with Republicans picking up most statewide offices and dominating the congressional delegation.

All Well And Good, But Trump Needs To Cut Florida Some Slack

(I hear rumors that Florida Surgeon General, Joseph Lapado, is on the short list for Secretary of HHS.)
Gov. DeSantis already working on replacing three Florida Republicans picked by President Trump.
DeSantis, who is currently in Italy, tweeted early this morning:
Congratulations to the Floridians being appointed to key positions in the Trump Administration: Senator Marco Rubio, Congressman Matt Gaetz, and Congressman Mike Waltz.
I’ve instructed Secretary of State Cord Byrd to formulate and announce a schedule for the upcoming special elections immediately.
According to Florida law, DeSantis can pick a replacement himself for Senator Marco Rubio to serve out the remainder of his term, which ends in 2028.
Both Gaetz and Waltz will require special elections and hopefully those will be done before January 3rd, allowing Republicans to keep their small majority.

I Don't Subscribe To Your (Climate Change) Religion

DeSantis rips reporter on climate change: ‘Chance of me virtue signaling for people in media is zero.’

SARASOTA, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis scorched a reporter at a press conference on hurricane recovery who asked when he would use the words “climate change.”
The governor responded, “The chance of me virtue signaling for people in the media is zero, so do not count on that.”
“I don’t subscribe to your religion, and it’s just a tired refrain and song and dance,” the governor said.
“I get you have an agenda – I understand that. I think you should be more honest about what that would mean for people, taxing them to smithereens, stopping oil and gas, making people pay dramatically more for energy,” DeSantis said.
DeSantis said the country would “collapse” and the “idea of climate ideology driving policy” would not work.
“In Florida, our energy is going to be affordable and reliable, that’s what you’re going to do. That’s the only way you can adequately respond to things like we just saw with the storms, to get people hooked back up,” the governor said.
In May, the governor signed legislation to slash climate agenda directives in Florida’s energy policy.
“The legislation I signed today [will] keep windmills off our beaches, gas in our tanks, and China out of our state,” the governor said at the time. “We’re restoring sanity in our approach to energy and rejecting the agenda of the radical green zealots.”

North Carolina National Guard Admits They 'Rotor Washed' A Hurricane Helene Relief Site

As RedState reported on Tuesday, Brian Trascher, Vice President and PIO of the United Cajun Navy, confirmed the Sunday "rotor washing" event at one of their Hurricane Helene relief stations in North Carolina by what he surmised was a UH60 Blackhawk helicopter.
On the evening of Sunday, October 6, a helicopter "rotor washed" a POD center where the United Cajun Navy was distributing supplies and giving relief to the people impacted by Hurricane Helene. This area was no-fly territory, so the appearance of a helicopter flying 500 feet from the ground was extremely frightening, as the UCN documented on its X page.

https://x.com/Unitedcajunnavy/status/1843285325650837522

Trascher had more to say about who might have been behind the incident, and stated that the organization was investigating.
A day late and a dollar short, the North Carolina National Guard decided to fess up that it was their Blackhawk helicopter that did the deed. On Tuesday evening, they issued this post on X.

Who is in charge of North Carolina's National Guard? None other than Democrat Governor Roy Cooper, who has been part of the glacial response by FEMA and the roadblocks experienced by other relief organizations like the United Cajun Navy and individual citizens wanting to help. Interestingly enough, on that same Sunday of the incident, Gov. Cooper decided to take to X to slam the "relentless vortex of disinformation" and "bad actors" on X for making him a target.

"Politicians, billionaires and grifters who peddle lies during a time of crisis should be held accountable." The first part of that last part stands: Cooper should definitely be held accountable. The "unprecedented response" he crows about had little to do with him and everything to do with billionaires like Elon Musk, the relief organizations, and the incredible Americans who entered the breach and were the first to respond. Instead, Cooper chose to cozy up to FEMA heads and play at CENTCOM from his cushy office and home in Raleigh, while the people he hindered and maligned were the ones doing the work of saving lives and offering hope.

Winsome Earle-Sears for Governor of Virginia.

I was truly impressed when I first saw her ads when she was running for Lt. Gov. and I read up on her. Now she is running for Governor and I wish her the best.

Lt. Governor Winsome Sears just dropped her video announcing her candidacy for Governor of Virginia and it’s really good.

Crazy Joe “Mumbles” Biden is an election denier. Doesn’t that also make him an ‘insurrectionist?’ … or does he qualify to be a Hitler’esque Nazi? … Is he trying to destroy the “democracy?” … Are indictments being written up and filed …?

Louisiana Gov pardons 40 convicted murders before leaving office.

With crime out of control in Louisiana, the Democratic governor decided to release 40 convicted murderers before leaving office, among others. He’s issuing pardons because he believes their prisons are overpopulated.
Some of these murders were quite violent, with eleven of them being in the first degree.
Here’s more from the New York Post:
Louisiana’s outgoing Democratic governor pardoned 40 convicted murderers since October including one of whom had been on death row and another who fatally stabbed a woman 39 times.
Gov. John Bel Edwards has been on a mission to help Louisiana lose the title of being the World’s Prison Capital and has signed the pardons to release 56 total convicts in five separate batches.
Edwards, whose term ends on Jan 8. 2024, campaigned to reduce the state’s prison population and is attempting to see some results in his final weeks in office.
The Pelican State governor began signing his pardons on Oct. 11 with his latest coming on Dec. 19, while future orders could be announced after the holidays, according to KTSB.
Eleven of the 40 jailed murderers were convicted in the first degree, or those who killed a human being with the specific intent to kill or inflict great bodily harm and engaged in the preparation of the crimes that led to the killing.
Ricky Washington, 65, was found guilty of fatally shooting a grocery store owner during an armed robbery in Shreveport in 1979, according to KTBS.
Owner Grady Haynes was behind the counter of YQ Grocery and was shot once in the back of the head by Washington who was using a .32-caliber handgun, according to the case brief.
Washington faced the death penalty, but the jury was unable to come to a unanimous decision, which forced the case’s judge to rule he be sentenced to life behind bars.
Another pardon involved a man who fatally stabbed a woman nearly 40 times.
Nick Charles Nicholson, who also received a pardon, was found guilty of fatally stabbing convenience store worker Kelly Ann Gramm in 1981.
Gramm was discovered with 39 stabbed wounds across her body, and a broken tip of a knife lodged in her skull, the outlet reported.
Nicholson, 60, was arrested after police found him in his car with blood on his clothes and a cash register sitting next to him.
He also faced the death penalty but was sentenced to life in prison.
Edwards is being succeeded by Republican Jeff Landry. Hopefully he’ll be able to do a better job on crime for the state than Edwards.

I’ve heard rumors he will be running to be the next Governor of Florida. Continued great leadership in the Great State of Florida.

GAETZ: "We are devaluing American money so rapidly that in America today, you can’t even bribe Democrat Senators with cash alone! You need to bring gold bars to get the job done, just so that the bribes hold value!"

Trump Jr., and Kimberly Guilfoyle praise a theoretical Matt Gaetz campaign for Florida governor.
(It’s way too far out to start fantasizing about this but I would be behind Gaetz 100%)
MILWAUKEE (FLV) – On a livestream, Donald Trump Jr. and his partner, Kimberly Guilfoyle, praised a potential bid for Florida governor from Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz.
“Matt Gaetz. What’s the next move?” said Trump Jr., son of former President Donald Trump. “I see some ‘Matt Gaetz for president.'”
“No, no, no,” Gaetz replied.
“Matt Gaetz for governor!” Trump Jr. said.
“I want him to run for governor,” Guilfoyle said.
“I would definitely enjoy that job so much,” Gaetz said. “I would never leave it if I ever got that opportunity.”
Trump Jr. said he will “pre endorse Matt Gaetz for governor Florida right now,” he said, along with Guilfoyle.
“I’m the first endorsement of Matt, because I just want to see the meltdown,” Trump Jr. said. “The media – absolute meltdown – to that announcement.”
Gaetz responded, saying he’s “not in the race yet,” but joked he now has his “first volunteer.”
“I am the first and Kim’s the second volunteer,” Trump Jr. said.
The Florida governor’s race is far out, with Gov. Ron DeSantis only starting his second and final four-year term this past January.
The next Florida gubernatorial election takes place in 2026, with a new governor taking office in early 2027.

Even though Governor Ron DeSantis hasn’t announced a run for Presidency yet, the implication and perception is that he will and the hate overfloweth.
I don’t agree with everything any politician does, probably never will, and the people DeSantis seems to be lining up for a Presidential bid are NOT people that I have any fondness for but I don’t make his decisions.
BUT what I DO KNOW is that he has been the most Pro-American Governor Florida has had in my lifetime and I will continue to praise him regardless of all the hate that is spewed his way by people who will never be anything approaching him in levels of governing that he accomplishes EVERY DAY.
I won’t answer to any hate thrown my way for this post because you aren’t worthy and not worth the waste of time for me.
If Trump wins the Republican nomination for President, I will enthusiastically vote for him like I did previously, so I’m not a anti-Trumper, but I am also not an anti-DeSantis sheep. He’s my Governor, he’s human and prone to flaws, and I’m proud of him every.damn.day.
