'Nope': Former Walgreens Loss Prevention Supervisor Schools Ayanna Pressley Over Racism Claim on Closures.

As RedState previously reported, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) - a member of the infamous Congressional "Squad" of radical AOC-led leftists, has weighed in on the closures of several Boston Walgreens locations that have taken place over the last year, with the race card of course being prominently featured in her rant.
For those who missed it, here's what she said in a floor speech on Tuesday:

Using emotionally loaded words like "abandoning" without evidence, Pressley also declared, "This closure is a part of a larger trend of abandoning low-income communities like the previous closures in Mattapan and Hyde Park — both in the Massachusetts 7th."
The problem with these claims, as my colleague Mike Miller so eloquently noted, is that they leave out one crucially important piece of information: The closures are happening in high-crime parts of Beantown, where retail theft is rampant and leaves stores facing tough choices, like locking items behind glass doors, limiting aisles that are available for shopping, or shutting down altogether:
“Perhaps if members of the community didn't rob those Walgreens stores blind — likely stealing some of the products you mentioned, included — the locations wouldn't have been closed. That said, of course, compassion is warranted for law-abiding members of the community who are inconvenienced or worse by unchecked crime. “
"Unchecked crime" that goes unchecked thanks to woke, soft-on-crime elected "leaders" like Ayanna Pressley and the other Democrats at the city and state levels in deep blue Massachusetts like Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey who have expressed similar sentiments about the closures.
To further put an exclamation mark on the point, a former regional loss prevention supervisor for Walgreens in the Pittsburgh area weighed in on the Twitter machine in response to Pressley's baseless allegations about Walgreens deliberately "abandoning" certain locations due to race:

Unfortunately, it's innocent members of the community like the elderly, sick, and disabled who pay the price when lawlessness is allowed to prevail in retail establishments and in the streets, which we've seen happen in countless Democrat-run cities across the country like San Francisco, Detroit, and Chicago where businesses big and small are fleeing for greener pastures.
To reiterate a point I've made before on this issue, Democrat politicians who are using Walgreens as a scapegoat for their failed policies are also using the popular drugstore chain's decisions to close non-profitable stores as a way to manipulate their core constituencies into thinking they are being run over by rich white CEOs who are supposedly putting people over profit.
But instead of blaming Walgreens for closures in crime-ridden areas, residents and other community leaders should wake up and take it up with the elected officials who they put into office in the first place, and let them know they will no longer accept the city’s (and state’s) woke approach to (not) combating crime.
And then they need to turn around and put people in office who have the backbone to do what needs to be done to fight back against the crime issues rather than coddle the offenders.
Until they do, people can expect the deterioration of iconic American cities like Boston and San Francisco to continue. Yes, there are many bad-faith political actors in powerful positions in Massachusetts, but at some point the people who keep putting them in positions of power need to own up to the damage they've done in continuing to elect them in the first place.
In other words, if you are a resident of the Bay State and you keep pulling that lever for Democrats and expecting a different result, then you are part of the problem, not businesses that sometimes have no choice but to cut their losses and move on.

Democrats Push Unconstitutionally to Get Felons Voting.

A few blacks are wising up regarding the Democrat Party. Time to shift emphasis to the identity group that won’t ever forget who to vote for. Not even LGBTers are more certain to support Democrats than convicted felons:
Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., announced the Inclusive Democracy Act on Wednesday outside the United States Capitol with Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vt.
Because so long as America is still standing, Our Democracy is not inclusive enough.
The bill would guarantee the right to vote in federal elections for all Americans, regardless of criminal conviction. It also requires those with past convictions to receive notice they are now eligible to vote.
The bill is unconstitutional, because the states have authority over elections. But that isn’t likely to stop a member of the Squad like Ayanna Pressley.
"We must be just as relentless in protecting and expanding access to the ballot box, including for incarcerated citizens," Pressley said. "They have not forfeited their rights of citizenship, and so they deserve to have, to have their voices heard and to have access to the ballot."
Welch, meanwhile, suggested that Republicans are engaging in a "significant effort" to keep people from the ballot box by passing discriminatory voter laws, like limits to early and mail-in voting.
"If you can't win at the ballot box, don't let people vote. That has been a tactic in many of the states around the country, so it's not just here in Congress," Welch explained. "We're committed to full access to the ballot box as a birthright in this country."
Currently, 48 states have restrictions on which people with felonies can vote, with the details about how that is decided and carried differing significantly depending upon the state.
Liberal and left-wing activists have noted that the laws disproportionately affect Black Americans.
Black Americans make up around 38.6% of the incarcerated population but are around 13% of the total U.S. population, according to data collected earlier this month by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Pressley's bill is unlikely to pass the Republican-controlled House. Still, even if it eventually becomes law, the bill will likely face legal challenges surrounding its constitutionality, as states control elections.

‘Squad’ Democrats* Weigh In After Terrorists Murder Hundreds In Israel.
(Democratic Socialists, at best.)

Members of the “Squad” House Democrats released statements on Saturday’s carnage in Israel calling for a ceasefire after Hamas terrorists murdered hundreds of people and abducted dozens.
Democratic (and members of the Democratic Socialists of America) Reps. Cori Bush of Missouri, Jamaal Bowman of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota all released statements calling for de-escalation in the wake of one of the largest single-day attacks against Israel in its history. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, a Palestinian-American who called Israel an apartheid state as recently as June, also released a statement on the attacks, which reports suggest may also have resulted in the murder or abduction of Americans.

An unknown number of Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel early Saturday morning via air, land and sea before going on killing sprees in the country’s southern region, according to CBS News. The terrorists abducted Israelis, including children and the elderly, murdered Israeli citizens in the streets, went door-to-door looking for targets and returned to the Gaza Strip with scores of civilians as hostages, according to NDTV and footage posted to the internet.
Graphic videos of the attacks circulated on the internet Saturday, including footage of a stripped woman being paraded through the streets of Gaza in a pickup truck while onlookers cheered and spat on her dead body. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared a state of war, and the country’s air forces pounded the Gaza Strip with overnight airstrikes in preparation for a potential invasion by its ground forces, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Tlaib said she is grieving the lives lost on both sides, but did not explicitly condemn the Hamas attacks in her statement, which was reportedly obtained by Detroit News but has not yet appeared on her social media accounts or website. Tlaib called for an end to U.S. financial support for the Israeli “apartheid government,” also stating that “lifting the blockade, ending the occupation and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance” by Palestinian factions are necessary to stop the violence, according to the statement obtained by the Detroit News.
In response to the vicious attacks against Israel, Bush acknowledged the loss of life on both sides and condemned the attacks before calling for “an immediate ceasefire” and stating that “we must do our part to end this violence and trauma by ending U.S. government support for Israel military occupation and apartheid.”
Bowman condemned the attacks before calling for an end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip, in which Egypt is also a participant.
Pressley came out against the “devastating” Hamas attacks before calling for “an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation” to the conflict. Similarly, Ocasio-Cortez said that she condemns the attacks “in the strongest possible terms” before calling for “an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation.”
Omar condemned the Hamas attacks as “horrific” before calling for a “de-escalation and ceasefire” to end the “back and forth cycle” of violence in the region. In a subsequent tweet, Omar said that “Gaza doesn’t have shelters or an iron dome and to please pray for them.”
Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system is in place to guard against rocket barrages fired indiscriminately by terrorist groups like Hamas.
The coming war between Hamas and Israel appears likely to be bloody and long, Netanyahu said.
None of the House Democrats named in this story responded immediately to requests for comment.
