This is the stupidest bitch, and I mean for male or female, that has ever ran for the office of President or V.P. in the history of this country. And if you vote for this, you are equally freakin’ stupid.

Greg Gutfeld destroys Kamala Harris economic proposal.

Greg Gutfeld had a really great drop the mic moment yesterday in response to Kamala’s economic speech in North Carolina.
Gutfeld is funny from time to time, but in this one he’s ticked off and proceeds to torch the rationale for her economic plans, from down payment assistance for a new home to price controls.

Watch below:

CNN just DESTROYED Kamala Harris’ economic agenda.

CNN just had their economic analyst on and she completely destroyed the proposal by Kamala Harris to implement price controls.
Catherine Rampell, a CNN Economic and Political Commentator, told CNN:
“It also wold be very bad for markets. We‘ve seen this kind of thing tried in lots of other countries before, Venezuela, Argentina, the Soviet Union, etc. It leads to shortages, it leads to black markets…plenty of uncertainty.
…It’s really hard for me to imagine any form of legislation that preserves the spirit of what [Kamala] is proposing…it would at best do nothing, at worst cause a lot of harm.”

Huge Fire Sparked by a Mercedes-Benz EV Adds to Safety Concerns Dogging Industry.

Blaze in South Korea prompts debate over whether electric vehicles should be allowed in the country’s ubiquitous underground parking lots.

SEOUL—It took just seconds for an underground South Korean residential parking lot to be engulfed in flames. The culprit: a Mercedes-Benz EQE electric vehicle that hadn’t been charging.
The blaze incinerated dozens of cars nearby, scorched another 100 vehicles and forced hundreds of residents to emergency shelters as the buildings above the parking lot lost power and electricity. Nobody died, but the fire took eight hours to extinguish.
The blaze dominated national news in South Korea. Some organizations are pushing for EVs to be parked outdoors, residents are protesting and lawmakers are proposing new safety measures.
The perceived risk of EVs is particularly acute in tightly packed South Korea, a country roughly the size of Indiana with roughly 52 million people. Seoul, the capital city, has a significantly higher population density than New York or Tokyo. Roughly half of South Koreans live in the greater Seoul metropolitan area.
Outdoor residential parking lots are relatively uncommon. The nation’s ubiquitous high-rise apartments often feature underground parking, where firefighters must contend with restricted access.
The country had already been on edge about battery-related fires, following a blaze at a lithium-battery factory in late June that killed nearly two dozen people. The Mercedes EV blaze, in the port city of Incheon, occurred last week. Then, on Tuesday, a Kia EV6 caught fire in an apartment in a central South Korean town.

I have a question for the “journalist” that asked this question. Does it piss you off just a little maybe that she never answered the question … and she never came close to answering the question? Are you worried that she thinks you’re too stupid to realize that she never answered the question or … is she too stupid to answer the question … or is it a little of both as I suspect?

Biden’s Failed Gaza Pier to be Permanently Retired In A Few Days
An egregious waste of a whopping $230 million of your money, that resulted in injured servicepersons, almost no aid delivered, and embarrassment to the U.S., passes into the dustbin of history.

It didn’t take long for the Gaza Pier to become a floating slow-moving train wreck:

• Biden’s Gaza Floating Port Plan Generating Concern Among Military Professionals
• Report: Gaza Terrorists Attack U.S. Humanitarian Pier During Construction Work
• Biden’s Gaza “Pier to Nowhere” a Disaster and National Embarrassment, Breaks Apart

And now, in one final kick in the you-know-what, the Biden Administration has announced that the Gaza Pier will be dismantled.
From the Associated Press: US-built pier will be put back in Gaza for several days to move aid, then permanently removed:
The pier built by the U.S. military to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza will be reinstalled Wednesday to be used for several days, but then the plan is to pull it out permanently, several U.S. officials said. It would deal the final blow to a project long plagued by bad weather, security uncertainties and difficulties getting food into the hands of starving Palestinians.
The officials said the goal is to clear whatever aid has piled up in Cyprus and on the floating dock offshore and get it to the secure area on the beach in Gaza. Once that has been done, the Army will dismantle the pier and depart….
U.S. troops removed the pier on June 28 because of bad weather and moved it to the port of Ashdod in Israel. But distribution of the aid had already stopped due to the security concerns….
As a result, aid brought through the pier into the secure area on the beach piled up for days while talks continued between the U.N. and Israel. More recently, the World Food Program hired a contractor to move the aid from the beach to prevent the food and other supplies from spoiling….
And the weather now is projected only to get worse.
The pier was damaged by high winds and heavy seas on May 25, just a bit more than a week after it began operating, and was removed for repairs. It was reconnected on June 7, but removed again due to bad weather on June 14. It was put back days later, but heavy seas again forced its removal on June 28.
There is simply no way to describe this operation other than as a disaster. In one of the videos there are porta potties floating around.

https://x.com/CitizenFreePres/status/1810821199242342665?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1810821199242342665%7Ctwgr%5E9622caced80db93ee74e3e8e8657bd80b4c4bc83%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Flegalinsurrection.com%2F2024%2F07%2Fmetaphor-alert-bidens-gaza-pier-to-be-permanently-retired-in-a-few-days%2F

From my perspective, there is no way U.S. military planners didn’t know that this would be of marginal to no utility, but they obviously were overridden by an administration desperate for feel-good talking points about delivering humanitarian aid, regardless of the actual results.
What a waste.

DeSantis official mocks climate change activist for outcry after new energy law.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A spokesperson for Gov. Ron DeSantis mocked a “media activist” who went after DeSantis for signing a new energy law that scrubbed climate change references and directives, opting to focus more on cost efficiency and reliability.
The Washington Post covered a Miami meteorologist who called the new law “Don’t Say Climate Change.”
“The world is looking to Florida to lead in climate change, and our government is saying that climate change is no longer the priority it once was,” said Steve MacLaughlin of NBC 6.
“As Florida is on fire, underwater and unaffordable, our state government is rolling back climate change legislation and language,” he said.
DeSantis communications director Bryan Griffin said “no one has done more for Florida’s environment” than the Florida governor.
“The Climate Change™ firm just can’t stand being cut out, even at the cost of reliable, clean domestic energy. Florida stands up for sanity,” he said.

https://x.com/BryanDGriffin/status/1792956685893439736?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1792956685893439736%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fflvoicenews.com%2Fdesantis-official-mocks-climate-change-activists-for-outcry-after-new-energy-law%2F

Florida’s new law, signed by DeSantis last week, rescinds a phrase directing the state to address “the potential of global climate change.”
The bill also requires the state to study and evaluate the potential technical and economic advantages of using nuclear power technologies.
It also prohibits the expansion of certain green energy infrastructure in Florida, including offshore wind energy facilities and certain wind turbines.
It was sponsored by Rep. Bobby Payne, R-Palatka and Sen. Jay Collins, R-Tampa.
Griffin also cited past efforts by DeSantis to protect the state’s environment and natural resources to the tune of billions of dollars toward the Everglades and water quality.

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis signed three bills on Wednesday combatting the climate agenda pushed by “green energy zealots.”

The slew of legislation slashes climate agenda directives in Florida’s energy policy, places a greater emphasis on nuclear energy and focusing on cost efficiency for Floridians, bans state holdings for Chinese Communist Party-linked companies, and bars state investments into companies that utilize “forced labor.”
“The legislation I signed today [will] keep windmills off our beaches, gas in our tanks, and China out of our state,” the governor said. “We’re restoring sanity in our approach to energy and rejecting the agenda of the radical green zealots.”
“Furthermore, we’re going to ensure foreign adversaries like China have no foothold in our state,” he said.
HB 1645 – Energy Resources
The legislation updates various aspects of Florida’s energy policy and how different state departments are to implement their own policies surrounding it.
The proposal rescinds a phrase directing the state to address “the potential of global climate change.”
The bill also requires the state to study and evaluate the potential technical and economic advantages of using nuclear power technologies.
It also prohibits the expansion of certain green energy infrastructure in Florida, including offshore wind energy facilities and certain wind turbines.
Some of the bureaucratic revisions include requiring the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to be consistent with the state’s energy policy goals and priorities.
It additionally requires rural electric utilities to have at least one mutual aid agreement with another electric utility for purposes of restoring power after a natural disaster.
The legislation also encourages the expansion of natural gas resources throughout the state.
The bill was sponsored by Rep. Bobby Payne, R-Palatka and Sen. Jay Collins, R-Tampa.
HB 7071 – Foreign Investments by the State Board of Administration
The bill prevents the State Board Administration from accepting direct holding of Chinese companies on behalf of the Florida Retirement System Trust Fund.
Additionally, the administration must initiate a review of all current direct holdings to determine which, if any, include securities of a Chinese company.
According to the bill analysis, the retirement system’s exposure to Chinese companies is estimated around $227 million, or 0.16% of the trust fund.
Rep. Mike Caruso, R-Delray Beach, sponsored the legislation.
HB 1331 – Commodities Produced by Forced Labor
The legislation prohibits state agencies from contracting with companies for commodities produced by forced labor.
The bill requires the Department of Management Services to create and maintain a forced labor vendor list of companies that have been disqualified from public contracting for 365 days and to publish an updated version of the list on a quarterly basis.
It was sponsored by Rep. Bradford Yeager, R-New Port Richey.

World’s Largest Floating Solar Power Plant Wrecked by Storm Just Before Grand Launch

The world’s largest floating solar power plant, located at Omkareshwar Dam in Madhya Pradesh, India, was obliterated by a storm on April 9, 2024, just days before its scheduled grand inauguration.
The ambitious project faced the wrath of nature as strong winds reaching speeds of up to approximately 31 miles per hour tore through the installation, uprooting and severely damaging the high-tech solar panels that floated on the backwater of the dam.
This floating solar plant claimed to be the largest globally, represents a joint venture between the Madhya Pradesh Government and the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), according to Lokmat Times.
“Omkareshwar Dam is built on the Narmada river. This is our hydel project and in this, we produce energy from water, but it is spread over about 100 square kilometers [38.6 square miles], there is a very large water body where the water level remains normal,” said Sanjay Dubey, Renewable Energy Department Principal Secretary.
A 600 MW floating solar project promised to significantly bolster the power generation capacity of the state. However, this ambitious experiment ended in a spectacular failure.
The project was supposed to be the world’s largest floating solar PV plant, but instead, it’s become a stark reminder of the limits of renewable energy and the dangers of prioritizing grand ambitions over practical realities.

 Biden’s Coming ‘Climate Emergency’
With his poll numbers flagging, Joe Biden is considering a “national climate emergency” to fire up the youth vote.

Energy is power.
Those nations that can produce the most abundant and affordable energy will be able to dominate the future. Thus, Joe Biden’s war against fossil fuels is a fool’s errand that will only hamstring America’s future and its global leadership. Indeed, it appears intended to do precisely that: make the U.S. subservient to a government of global elitists.
On the heels of the latest draconian emissions regulations from Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency — which mandate the near impossible, that coal-fired and natural gas power plants capture upwards of 90% of all their carbon emissions — the White House is also reportedly mulling the declaration of a “national climate emergency.”
Evidently, it’s not enough that Biden has targeted America’s fossil fuel industry with myriad industry-squelching regulations all under the guise of “saving the planet.” Or tried to force Americans into buying electric vehicles, an action that has clearly not paid off for the nation’s automakers, as sales of the expensive and impractical EVs are far from meeting the desired target of an all-electric near future.
No, Biden’s goal has been to end our nation’s fossil fuel industry. He promised as much back in 2019 when he told a young climate activist: “I want you to look at my eyes. I guarantee you. I guarantee you. We’re going to end fossil fuel.”
The trouble is, as any person with a modicum of common sense who looks at the real data can surmise, there’s no getting to Biden’s pie-in-the-sky all-electric future powered only by renewable energy. The nation’s need for energy is growing exponentially, largely thanks to Big Tech and the development of Artificial Intelligence. We can’t simply replace our existing fossil fuel-based energy production with renewables. Instead, we need to increase our energy production.
In Texas alone, it is estimated that the demand for power will grow by 40,000 megawatts by 2030. That’s seven times what New York City uses. The Wall Street Journal observes, “Texas power demand will nearly double over the next six years owing to data centers, manufacturing plants, crypto mining, and the electrification of oil and gas equipment.”
And yet Biden’s EPA is making it harder and costlier for the nation’s energy industry to produce electricity. Indeed, thanks to the EPA’s latest carbon capture rules for fossil fuel energy plants, many existing ones will have to shut down because it is simply too cost-prohibitive and energy-taxing to meet the new regulations. But that is apparently what Biden wants.
Furthermore, the supposed concern over limiting carbon emissions to “save the planet” is nonsense, given that China has, over the last five years, added 200 gigawatts of electricity to its grid via new coal-fired power plants. That, of course, eliminates any of the supposed benefits of the EPA’s latest carbon emissions regulations. It’s hard to empty a swimming pool with a bucket when someone else is filling it with a firehose.
But irrespective of the science, the math, and the economic reality, Biden is bound and determined to end fossil fuels. Ergo, the disastrous notion of declaring a “climate emergency” à la the COVID pandemic. While Biden has long flirted with the notion of declaring a climate emergency, the dubious legal rationale of doing so has likely stayed his hand.
However, given Biden’s alarming poll numbers, the White House is considering whether this move would excite the youth vote. As White House spokesperson Angelo Fernandez Hernandez recently argued, “President Biden has treated the climate crisis as an emergency since day one and will continue to build a clean energy future that lowers utility bills, creates good-paying union jobs, makes our economy the envy of the world and prioritizes communities that for too long have been left behind.”
The irony is that what has proven to be the biggest drag against Biden is the state of the economy under his leadership. With Americans suffering from sustained high inflation, the economy is the number one election issue for voters. However, it was Donald Trump’s lackluster response to the pandemic that most likely cost him the election in 2020, so Biden and company may be looking at a means of creating a similar scenario to maintain power.
Shutting down the economy in response to a once-in-a-century pandemic is one thing, but shutting down the economy in response to the leftist climate cult’s apocalyptic pronouncements is another. It’s so blatantly political that it could backfire spectacularly, as has subjecting Trump to lawfare.
Hopefully, for the good of the country, Biden refrains from attempting such an economy-destroying action. But don’t hold the CO2 in your lungs.

Ford Reports Staggering Loss On Every Electric Vehicle It Sold.
This is some FUNNY SHIT here as far as I’m concerned.

Ford Motor Company revealed this week that it lost more than a hundred thousand dollars for every electric vehicle that it sold during the first quarter.
Ford’s electric vehicle unit reported a $1.3 billion loss, amounting to a $132,000 loss per electric vehicle sold during the first three months of the year, CNN reported.
The company saw a 20% decrease in sales volume and, because of low demand for electric vehicles across the industry, was forced to slash the prices of its electric vehicle offerings.
Ford said that it expects its electric vehicle division to lose $5 billion this year, an increase of $300 million from the $4.7 billion loss that it suffered last year.
“Americans don’t want EVs at levels Biden’s climate hysteria require,” businessman Andrew Puzder posted on X. “Ford’s EV Q1 losses soared to $1.3 billion — a ridiculous $132,000 per EV sold. All Ford’s profits came from combustion engine vehicle sales. Collectivist policies destroy prosperity.”
The company announced earlier this month that it was delaying the production of two new electric vehicles and that it will instead focus on making more hybrid vehicles as consumer demand for electric vehicles continues to plummet.
“Many companies rushed in too fast with E.V.s that were too expensive and there was not as much of a market for them as they thought,” Sam Abuelsamid, principal analyst for transportation and mobility at the research firm Guidehouse Insights, told the The New York Times. “That’s made it a lot tougher to sell those vehicles.”
Numerous companies have been forced to scrap their plans to build electric cars, cancel their plans to go all electric, or in some cases are struggling just to stay in business.
Consumers regularly have complained about the high prices of electric vehicles, their quality and reliability, the lack of charging stations, the time it takes to charge them, how inconvenient they can be, and their significantly decreased performance during cold weather conditions.

Exclusive: Rep. Keith Self Warns U.S. Constitutional Republic Can’t Survive ‘Fourth Obama Term.’

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on the sidelines of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Hungary 2024 on Friday, Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) lamented the “decline in the influence of the United States around the world” under Biden.
“It started with the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Soon after that, people started testing us and Putin started moving troops into Ukraine within two months of the withdrawal,” he said. “And, frankly, that’s lightning speed when you talk about a nation making a decision to start moving troops toward combat.”
He then asserted that Biden’s term mirrors Obama’s while warning of the risks such policies pose to the country.
He also described the current status of the long-held alliance between America and the Jewish State as being at a “pretty low point,” attributing it to Biden “doing everything he can to make Israel unsuccessful in their mission to destroy the Hamas infrastructure.”
“We’ve got to remember that Israel’s mission in Gaza is to destroy the infrastructure of Hamas,” he told Breitbart News.
Pointing to Hamas’s remaining battalions in southern Gaza, Self, who serves as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, insisted that Israel intends to “clean it out and finish the job.”
However, he noted, Biden is “throwing every obstacle he can in the way of that.”
“At the end of the day, I think Israel will probably do what they can to meet their objectives in spite of the Biden administration,” he stated.
Self then addressed the ongoing anti-Israel protests on college campuses throughout the U.S., describing them as the result of socialist propaganda.

Volvo, an early Electric Car adopter, cuts off funding for its EV affiliate.

STOCKHOLM—Volvo Car said it won’t provide further funding to Polestar, the electric-car maker it created with Volvo’s Chinese owner Geely—the latest EV retrenchment by the global auto industry. The announcement sent the Swedish automaker's stock up more than 30% at market open. The automaker said earlier this month that it had missed its already-reduced delivery targets for 2023.
Polestar's shares are down just over 83% since it went public in June 2022 via a merger with a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC. Polestar last week said it planned to cut around 450 jobs globally, or about 15% of its workforce, amid "challenging market conditions".
The auto industry’s pivot to electric vehicles has been rocked by setbacks this year, just as a flood of new battery-powered models is hitting showrooms.
Earlier this week, French automaker Renault said it has decided to cancel the initial public offering of its electric-car unit Ampere. Ford, meanwhile, has slashed production of its electric F-150 Lightning, a pickup truck that has generated major buzz since its launch. Rental-car firm Hertz has said it was dumping about one-third of its EV rental car fleet, replacing the cars with gas-engine vehicles.

Biden Treats Brewery Crowd to His Authentic Washington Gibberish

Social media users tore into President Biden on Thursday after he made a series of verbal stumbles during an address at a Wisconsin brewery.
Biden gave his speech at Earth Rider Brewery in Superior, Wisconsin, where he touted his economic record – aka “Bidenomics” – and the success of his bipartisan infrastructure legislation in a bid to shore up support for his 2024 re-election bid.
However, online onlookers were distracted from the economic talking points by an extended gaffe Biden made about the brewery and its beer.
Mark Dice does a review of Biden’s brewery breakdown, including the backwards hard hat image.

Electric Vehicles Enter the 'Total Failure' Phase of Their Existence.

Is it time to start asking whether electric vehicles have any redeeming value in 2024? Given the recent spate of bad news surrounding them, the answer to that question is becoming clearer.
As RedState reported, Ford has cut the production of its "Lightning" electric pickup truck in half. Why? Mainly because no one wants to buy them. Why do they not want to buy them? Because they are overpriced, unreliable, and impractical.
Who could have guessed that paying $55,000 (and that's with EV subsidies) for a stripped-down, base-level truck that overheats when you tow things and can't drive over 300 miles on a single charge wouldn't appeal to the average F-150 buyer? Certainly, people who use their trucks for work have found little to no use for such a pointless monstrosity.
It's not just the Lightning, though. The entire EV industry is getting hit by reality right now.
There is no better example of government idiocy than the top-down push for electric vehicles, which at this point has cost American taxpayers tens of billions of dollars. They were a solution to a problem that didn't exist, and even then, they turned out to not be a solution at all. It's not just about cost either. How useful is a car that loses most of its range when it gets below freezing? How useful is a car that that can't be driven for more than a few hours in a row even in perfect conditions?
Ford and GM aren't cutting EV production because they want to. They are doing so because the market is forcing them to. People want reliable vehicles that meet their needs. They don't want to pay a five-figure repair bill for a new battery or because an electric motor failed. Gas-powered cars are not only far more capable, they are cheaper when it comes to acquisition, maintenance, and operating costs. The nexus of spending money on fuel vs. electricity is so far apart that you'll be buying the aforementioned new battery long before you approach any actual savings.
So again, it's worth asking whether EVs have any redeeming qualities in their current iteration. They aren't renewable, relying on toxic chemicals mined by literal child slaves in Africa that eventually require replacement. They are less capable than your average gas-powered vehicle. They typically cost more new but don't hold their value because the batteries are so expensive to replace, meaning buyers get hit coming and going. The list goes on.
Aren't they saving the planet, though? I'd suggest not given they still rely on power largely created by fossil fuels anyway.  So what's the point? All EVs are doing is empowering China, which produces 70 percent of the world's EVs and controls most of the mining of the materials needed to build them. How many billions of dollars are American companies going to continue to throw away pursuing this government-pushed pipedream? The answer is likely quite a few billion more. Eventually, the market always wins, though.

Automakers Blast Biden Admin For EV, Fuel Economy Rules.
(I’m NOT in the market for a new vehicle. I have a 2019 RAM 1500 5.7 L extended cab and I hope to drive it for my remaining years. If I were in the market, getting a few miles per gallon extra but paying $3K more, really wouldn’t change my opinion about EV’s … I’ll NEVER own one).

The people who make the vehicles know what they are doing. They know what is coming. Honda and Toyota both saw in 2020 that shipping vehicles and parts across the oceans, especially the Pacific, would be a big problem. Honda stopped making hatchback Civics in the UK. Look at their window stickers and see how much is made in North America now versus how much had been made in Japan previously. So, they know what will happen. They make the damned things
Automakers blast US plan to hike fuel efficiency rules.
A group representing General Motors (GM.N), Toyota Motor (7203.T), Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) and nearly all other major automakers on Monday sharply criticized the Biden administration proposal to drastically hike fuel efficiency requirements.
The Alliance for Automotive Innovation said the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) proposal was unreasonable and requested significant revisions.
The industry group argued the plan would boost average vehicle prices by $3,000 by 2032 because of penalties automakers would face for not being in compliance, adding the figure “exceeds reason and will increase costs to the American consumer with absolutely no environmental or fuel savings benefits.”
NHTSA in July proposed boosting requirements by 2% per year for passenger cars and 4% per year for pickup trucks and SUVs from 2027 through 2032, resulting in a fleet-wide average fuel efficiency of 58 miles (93 km) per gallon.
Vehicles are already very pricey post-COVID, with even base models, which are limited production these days, jumping about $3K-$4k.
NHTSA said its rule “is focused on saving Americans money at the gas pump and strengthening American energy independence,” estimating combined benefits of its proposal exceed costs by more than $18 billion.
Automakers also raised alarm at the Energy Department’s proposal to significantly revise how it calculates the petroleum-equivalent fuel economy rating for EVs in NHTSA’s CAFE program, saying it would “devalue the fuel economy of electric vehicles by 72%.”
GM said on Monday it could support NHTSA’s proposal if the Energy Department rescinded its petroleum-equivalent proposal.
Volkswagen, which could face over $800 million in CAFE fines through 2032, said NHTSA’s proposal “is arbitrary, capricious, and an abuse of the agency’s discretion to set standards that are not feasible.”
All for an imaginary problem. But, hey, the government is here to help. As mandated by people who do not practice what they preach.

Moment $200,000 McLaren plug-in hybrid sports car bursts into flames on TEST DRIVE a mile away from motor dealership. (Video at link.)

This is the moment a $200,000 McLaren Artura plug-in hybrid sports car burst into flames during a test drive on Pontefract Road, Stourton, in Leeds. Artura, the supercar manufacturer's first electrified car was engulfed while being taken out for a spin just a mile from the motor dealership.
Images show the scorched wreckage of the plug-in hybrid, which was recalled in the US this year over a fire risk.
The 23-plate car was on a test run with a customer and a showroom worker when it suddenly caught alight. Both passengers escaped unharmed.
The motor - which can race to 60mph in just 2.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 205mph - was around a mile away from the McLaren Leeds dealership.
A spokesman from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: 'We received a call from the driver regarding a hybrid McLaren which went up in flames during its demo drive in Leeds, on the roundabout near the M1 at junction 44.
'We sent crews from Hunslet, which arrived on the scene at 2.35pm. We also sent a Hazardous Material Officer to dispose of the electrical battery. The fire was put out at 3.02pm with no report of injury.'
The Artura is McLaren's first foray into the electric market, featuring a 7.4kWh battery that powers a 94bhp electric motor.
But the supercar, built at McLaren's composite arm in South Yorkshire, has had a shaky start.
The first launch was cancelled at the last minute due to software issues and at the rescheduled event last summer a car caught fire.
Some 164 Arturas, which feature a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine made in Britain, were recalled in December by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The cause of the blaze in Leeds, near to junction 44 of the M1, is not known.
In his Sunday Times review, of the car, Grand Tour star Jeremy Clarkson said: 'I'm told that at the press launch there were a number of other problems, including some "thermal powertrain management issues". Which sounds like a "fire" to me.
'But I had a good old poke around in the interior of my test car and have to say it seems to be as well made as a Victorian tunnel.
'It's spacious too. One of the treats about getting old is that you don't bend in places where you used to bend very easily. So getting in and out of a low-slung car is usually funny enough to be a TikTok hit. But the Artura's fine.'

More proof that wind power is not a self sustaining proposition.

Offshore Wind Company, Avangrid, Wants To Pay Large Fine To Break Contract In Latest Sign Of Trouble For Industry.

Offshore wind developer Avangrid filed a request to terminate power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Eversource Energy and United Illuminating for its Park City Wind project, which was set for construction off of the Massachusetts coast, according to UtilityDive. Avangrid cited inflation, supply chain backups and higher interest rates as the driving motivations for their termination requests, and the company could stand to pay fines totaling approximately $16 million if the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) approves the requests.
“One year ago, Avangrid was the first offshore wind developer in the United States to make public the unprecedented economic headwinds facing the industry including record inflation, supply chain disruptions and sharp interest rate hikes, the aggregate impact of which rendered the Park City Wind project unfinanceable under its existing contracts,” the company said in a Monday statement. “After exploring all potential solutions to the financial challenges facing the project, and engaging in good-faith and productive discussions with Connecticut state officials regarding these challenges, it is clear the best path forward for Park City Wind is in the termination of the Power Purchase Agreements and a rebid of the project.
Avangrid paid a previous fine costing $48 million to Massachusetts.
This is despite the fact that the Biden administration, abetted by our representatives, shoveled $7 billion down the wind farm drain.
Previously the administration was trying to sell wind farm leases in the Gulf of Mexico and got NO bites.  Because no one can make any money at it.
Hopefully all of them will get shut down, because obviously the 'environmentalists' don't care about the whales anymore.
I'd like to see the ones on land all get shut down as well. Useless killing machines.
