Cracker Barrel - Never Going Back

I'm sure y'all have heard that Cracker Barrel management has decided to back off the logo change and bring back Uncle Herschel. Uncle Herschel was Cracker Barrel Old Country Store's founder Dan Evins' real uncle, the younger brother of Evins' mother.

But after reading the X/Twitter post about Cracker Barrel by Robby Starbuck*, I've decided that I can no longer have them on my approved restaurant list. They've been offending for far longer than I had any idea. And bringing Uncle Herschel back is NOT going to erase the rot going on at Cracker Barrel.

Gonna go ahead and post these last few (hopefully) ... and put Cracker Barrel in the rear view.

Robby Starbuck On Cracker Barrel

(There is a LOT of information here I had NO IDEA about. Never knew there was so much DEI already in Cracker Barrel for quite a while now.)

To put it mildly, Cracker Barrel has forgotten who their core customers are. It’s time for us to remind them. They depend on YOU to keep their business afloat so now YOU have to ask yourself: Do you want to fund people or companies that hate your values? It’s time to remind them who their customers are. If you think their values don’t align with yours and you’re a customer who wants to speak out, you can write to them here:

Cracker Barrel - Death Of A Southern Icon

Cracker Barrel lost roughly $200 million in market value on Thursday following the announcement of the new logo, according to CBS News. The stock hit came a day after CEO Julie Masino appeared on “Good Morning America” to defend changes she has spearheaded at the southern comfort store and restaurant.

2 of the 3 largest stockholders in Cracker Barrel are BlackRock and Vanguard.
The DEI & ESG kings of Wall Street.
Now do you see why their girl boss puppet did what she/it/they did?
This is an intentional erasure of American heritage.

If you look at the map and see how many Cracker Barrels are in RED territory, a reasonably intelligent person wouldn't go screaming off to the left for a little 'Woke' identity.

I think CB may be too far gone for that Boss.

RIP Cracker Barrel

(I really hate this because Cracker Barrel has always been a favorite of ours. Here in Florida, I haven't seen all the 'wokeness' infection yet but I guess it's coming.)

DAMN YOU ! Cracker Barrel.

Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino has responded to the backlash against the company's bizarre woke rebrand, and it's as bad as you might imagine.
Speaking to ABC's "Good Morning America" on Thursday, anchor Michael Strahan, Masino was asked about the videos on social media slamming the redesign backlash.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9Si-7EGPcE&t=1736s

(During the first part of the interview, along with her stupid little cringe giggle, was her explaining how the tariff’s have impacted them, letting you know that they are anti-Trump.)
Masino first reflected on the decision the company made a year ago to change the look of restaurants inside, removing the more down-home country look for something more sterile and changing the menu.
Masino said that for the remodels they were responding to what their guests want, saying, "We are doing all this for them."
And how about that menu change? Masino appeared to try to dodge the question about, "Is the food changing?" Instead, her response was that "innovation has proven to be really great at Cracker Barrel" and said that they were "reinvigorating their dinner menu."
That's woke speak for "Yes, yes we are, because we know better than generations before us who made food people kept coming back for."
When asked why Cracker Barrel was making all these changes, Masino's corporate-speak didn't fail with her reply that "Cracker Barrel needs to feel like the Cracker Barrel for today and for tomorrow."
During an interview a year ago, the CEO admitted to CNBC's Jim Cramer that the company made the menu changes with input from "people who love Cracker Barrel" and "people who have never been to Cracker Barrel." Oh boy.
Part of the rebrand included the recent unveiling of the new logo for the company, opting to remove the man sitting next to a barrel from its iconic logo and instead using just the words "Cracker Barrel" on a yellow background.

Cracker Barrel is not hiding its goals to become more inclusive. They even have a "diversity and inclusion" tab on their website:
It read:
Our teams work hard to create a culture of hospitality that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive to everyone who walks through our doors. Our food and décor celebrate warm memories of the past, and our inclusive culture and beliefs help us make way for an even brighter future, together. Discrimination, overt or through unconscious bias, has no place at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.

In June of 2023 Cracker Barrel went woke, deciding that it could bring in new customers and investors by sexualizing the front porch with rainbow-striped rocking chairs.

As it turned out, that was not a good marketing strategy, and it had the effect of repulsing existing customers who don’t want country cooking to be sexualized, be it gay, straight, or otherwise.
The customer backlash was immediate and devastating, as business in June and July 2023 plummeted.
It kept getting worse, and Cracker Barrel’s CEO Sandy Cochran stepped down from her position before year’s end.
In a Wall Street Journal article last week, it states that the new CEO, Julie Masino, is seeking “to update its image, menu and retail selection to be able to grow in an increasingly tough environment for restaurants.”
No, the first thing Cracker Barrel needs to do is apologize for insulting its loyal customers by sexualizing the restaurant and for effectively smearing its loyal customers as being “unwelcoming” people.
The fallout was immediate, with consumers announcing boycotts and the stock price taking an initial hit. Despite a lack of headlines or buzz since then, the boycott has continued and has been devastating to Cracker Barrel. The restaurant chain permanently ran off a great many loyal customers, and the persistently “unexpected” decline in traffic is taking a serious financial toll on the company.

It was just announced this week that Cracker barrel is slashing its dividend by 81%. Cracker Barrel stock has fallen from $102 per share at the start of “Pride Month” 2023 to $49 per share now, a 52% decline.

This hurts me personally, as I love Cracker Barrel, When we go to the next town to eat out or for Dr.'s appointment we "used" to eat there and and we enjoyed it. Now they're "off the table."

DAMN, but I can't not boycott them, because they obviously don't want me as a customer.

Cracker Barrel touts rainbow rockers and Pride message, a middle finger to customer base.
First Chick-fil-A and now Cracker Barrel? The country store and restaurant chain has apparently learned nothing about knowing your customer base from the Bud Light fiasco in celebrating Pride Month, but it doesn’t stop there.
Cracker Barrel shared a photo on Facebook of one of the rockers that traditionally sit in front of its stores with rainbow-colored slats, along with the message: “We are excited to celebrate Pride Month with our employees and guests. Everyone is always welcome at our table.”
While a noble thought, the company does not recognize every demographic in America in a similar fashion. Actress Colette Harrington shared a photo of the pro-LGBTQ+ display asking what’s going on with our government that’s causing companies to surrender to the woke left.
But it’s not the government, it’s corporate cowardice. Companies fearing the outcome of disappointing the intolerant left more than they do upsetting satisfied customers. The radical left cleverly instituted a woke scoring system that may explain the madness. The social credit score on diversity and inclusion — Corporate Equality Index — is overseen by the pro-LGBTQ+ advocacy group Human Rights Campaign and is considered all-important by many companies that fear what a bad score might bring.
On that note, HuffPost boasted of Cracker Barrel, “The company now has a diversity, equity and inclusion policy in place, scores an 80 on the Human Rights Campaign’s corporate equality index.”
“We take no pleasure in reporting that @CrackerBarrel has fallen. A once family friendly establishment has caved to the mob,” Texas Family Project tweeted, sharing screen grabs from the company’s website.
Cracker Barrel has indeed fully embraced left-wing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, just as the Christian-based Chick-fil-A fast food chain has done.
Under a subtitle labeled Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging at Cracker Barrel, the company’s website states:
“We have a responsibility to live up to our mission of Pleasing People each day, ensuring that every member of our team and every guest feels at home, feels cared for like family, and feels like they belong. Also guiding our way is the sense of belonging we strive to deliver as part of our People Promise.
Our teams work hard to create a culture of hospitality that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive to everyone who walks through our doors. Our food and décor celebrate warm memories of the past, and our inclusive culture and beliefs help us make way for an even brighter future, together. Discrimination, overt or through unconscious bias, has no place at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.”
