Just more proof that "fact-checkers" are pretty much asswipes and they should all be talked down to. They've admitted that "fact-checking" is pretty much just the opinion of the overlords. FactCheck.org is definitely no different from all the rest of the bastards.

On the anniversary of Greta Thunbergs notorious 'we have five years' post and immediately the 'your facts don't line up with our approved narrative' people covered my post and said I was trying to 'distort' the actual truth.

You can follow the events. This shit pisses me off to no end. They have been 'moving my posts lower in the feed for years now.'

They refused to change their opinion even though they knew I was 100% accurate in my post.

 

I followed the FackCheck.org link to their article and it pretty much proved I was right by lying / distorting what I was actually posting.

Elon's Humorous Response to Biden's Effort to Attack Him And 'Misinformation' on X.

Joe Biden emerged on Sunday after Congress managed to avert a government shutdown and acted like he deserved some credit for them reaching a deal. But, Biden looked very old, was glitching, had a significant brain freeze, and even managed to trip over his attempt to insult MAGA Republicans.
That wasn't the only bad look Biden had on Sunday. Biden was interviewed by Pro Publica's John Harwood (Harwood ended up there after he got the boot from CNN).  Both Biden and Harwood pushed this as an interview about the "threat" to democracy.
Even with a receptive liberal interviewer, Biden still managed to get into trouble with what he said. There were a couple of things that stood out. First, there was the bizarre comment he made about the late former Sen. Strom Thurmond that couldn't possibly be correct.

"When I left the Senate, I was able to convince Strom Thurmond to vote for the Voting Rights Act," Biden asserted.
Except as the clip notes, Thurmond died in 2003, while Biden didn't leave the Senate until 2009. The Voting Rights Act passed in 1965, before Biden was in office
Check out the look on Harwood's face as Biden says this. But Biden doesn't even have any idea how what he said was wrong.
Then they both bashed X owner Elon Musk.

"What about what Elon Musk has done to Twitter?" Harwood asked. "Lowering guardrails to misinformation, does that contribute to it?"
"Yeah, it does," Biden claimed. Then he said people go "online" to get their news, where they have "no notion of whether it's true or not."
Imagine Biden talking about misinformation when he's constantly slinging it, as we see above with the Thurmond claim.
Misinformation, to them, is anything they don't agree with or anything that challenges the approved narrative. That's why they're so unhappy with Elon Musk. Because with him in control of X, they no longer control the narrative there.
The fact that anyone in the government would think they have a responsibility to control "misinformation" is concerning thought in a free society that lives under our Constitution.
Beyond that, X has become more factually accurate and less of a purveyor of misinformation, now that Musk has brought in Community Notes. Maybe Joe Biden doesn't like that because he's been busted by the Notes on multiple occasions.
Elon wasn't shy about responding. He laughed at how ridiculous that was.
Many pointed out how it was Elon taking over that exposed the misinformation being pushed on Twitter previously through the Twitter Files. Musk brought more transparency and responsiveness to the platform.
Musk also noted that the real president was "the one who controlled the teleprompter."
I think Musk wins the internet for the brutal accuracy there.
But it's Biden's attitude and Democrats' efforts to control that's the danger, not "misinformation."

“Disinformation Governance Board” 2.0

A new “disinformation office” has been quietly established by the Biden administration. This office will have the authority to arrest and prosecute citizens of the United States who publish content online that is deemed to be “false” by so-called fact checkers.
According to the announcement made by Director Avril Haines on Thursday, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has established a new office to oversee the efforts being made by the intelligence community to combat “disinformation” in the United States.
Haines made the announcement during a hearing with the Senate Armed Services Committee. The Foreign Malign Influence Center (FMIC) will be focused not only on “foreign malign influence” aimed at U.S. elections, but also on “public opinion within the United States.”
Haines declared, “Congress put into law that we should establish a foreign malign influence center in the intelligence community. We stood that up and it encompasses our election threat executive work essentially looking at foreign influence and interference in elections, and deals with disinformation more generally”.

From its perch atop the intelligence community, the FMIC has been designated the U.S. government’s primary authority for analyzing and integrating intelligence on foreign influence, according to a brief entry on ODNI’s website. The FMIC’s acting director, Jeffrey K. Wichman, is a former CIA executive who previously served as chief of analysis for the agency’s Counterintelligence Mission Center.
“Exposing deception in defense of liberty” is the center’s motto, ODNI’s website says. It enjoys access to “all intelligence possessed or created pertaining to FMI [foreign malign information], including election security.”
Haines said the FMIC would work with the State Department’s Global Engagement Center (GEC) to fulfill its mission, which the Twitter Files revealed works as a malicious censorship arm of the federal government.
“What we have been doing is effectively trying to support the Global Engagement Center and others throughout the U.S. government in helping them to understand what are the plans and intentions of the key actors in this space: China, Russia, Iran, etc.,” she said.
Specifically, the “GEC funded the Global Disinformation Index (GDI), a foreign data-driven advocacy organization, which ‘created blacklists of U.S. domestic media voices to cripple U.S. citizen journalists’ advertising revenue,’ according to House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (TX), Foreign Affairs Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee Chair Brian Mast (FL), and GOP Reps. Chris Smith (FL), Darrell Issa (CA), Maria Salazar (FL), Keith Self (TX), Cory Mills (FL), and Ken Buck (CO),” Breitbart reported.
This comes ten months after the Department of Homeland Security scrapped its planned “Disinformation Governance Board” in the wake of massive public backlash.
This is just another attempt by the government to establish a Ministry of Truth that will be weaponized against, not “foreign adversaries,” but the American people.
