Florida Republican Party Endorses A Democrat

The Florida Republican Party has come out with a post that is a head-turner for political wonks. The Sunshine State GOP has lent its endorsement to, of all things, a Democrat!
Call it what you will; epic trolling, spiking the football, taunting the afflicted…any and all may apply. Nikki Fried is someone who has long operated with a dense cloud of delusion. When she served in the state capitol as the Agriculture commissioner she would boast how Democrats were growing in nature when she was - literally - the only elected party member in a power role in the state legislature. She even touted being the only elected Dem in Tallahassee in her social media bio.
She then took that hubris and ran for the governor’s mansion, where she could not even win her party’s primary, losing to Charlie Crist, who went on to be curb-stomped in the election by Ron DeSantis, losing by 20 points. The Florida Democrats then wisely selected her to be the state’s party leader.
Since she took the position Fried was a regular source of head-scratching activity. She boasted about Democrats flipping some state seats, in Jacksonville and Orange County – which are Democrat regions. She adopted the Florida panther as the party mascot, which was apt in ways she did not consider as it is a deeply endangered species with dwindling numbers and difficult to find in this region.
The result of November 5th’s election? Trump carried the state by 13 points. Democrats took all of six counties – SIX! Miami-Dade - which has been historically blue forever, it seems, went to Trump by 11 percent! And all of that media push to sway Hispanics away as a result of a comedian telling a joke at the Madison Square Garden rally?
While most metropolitan centers are traditionally blue across the country, in Florida you see the Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville regions all going for the Republicans. Two central Florida counties that are Puerto Rican enclaves - Osceola and Hillsborough - went red. Additionally, two amendment items on the ballot that Democrats favored heavily - abortion becoming codified (Amendment 4) and the legalization of marijuana (Amendment 3) - were voted down. The Amendment 3 issue was a personal hit to Fried, as she has direct ties to the marijuana industry in the state.
That is a garbage result, as far as the Democratic Party in Florida is concerned. For this reason, the state Republican Party leadership has enthusiastically pushed for Nikki Fried to continue for another four years.

Florida GOP lawmakers react to Trump NYC verdict.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida lawmakers reacted to news of a New York City jury finding former President Donald Trump guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records, making him the first former president to be convicted of a felony.
“Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to ‘get’ Donald Trump,” said Gov. Ron DeSantis on his “X” account.
“That this case—involving alleged misdemeanor business records violations from nearly a decade ago—was even brought is a testament to the political debasement of the justice system in places like New York City. This is especially true considering this same district attorney routinely excuses criminal conduct in a way that has endangered law-abiding citizens in his jurisdiction.”
The governor said Trump had been singled out by prosecutors.
“If the defendant were not Donald Trump, this case would never have been brought, the judge would have never issued similar rulings, and the jury would have never returned a guilty verdict,” he continued.
“In America, the rule of law should be applied in a dispassionate, even-handed manner, not become captive to the political agenda of some kangaroo court,” the governor said.

Florida Sen. Rick Scott called the trial “sham.”
“This was a sham trial and the clearest example we’ve ever seen of election interference. I am furious and no American is safe from Democrat political persecution,” Scott posted on his “X” account.
“Joe Biden and the Democrat machine manufactured a legal case against Trump to win an election,” he said. “I went to New York to stand with President Trump and the American voters will stand with him this November.”

Sen. Marco Rubio also posted to his “X” account, “The verdict in New York is a complete travesty that makes a mockery of our system of justice. A political show trial conducted by an openly pro-Biden judge whose daughter makes money off the case, a jury from the most liberal county in America, absurd and ridiculous charges and outrageous jury instructions that guaranteed guilty verdicts.”

Rep. Byron Donalds also reacted to the verdict, “What happened in NY is disaster verdict by a crooked judge and a crooked prosecution. Donald Trump is innocent. To hell with what the jury said,” Donalds posted on his “X” account. “America, this is what a political prosecution looks like. Remember in November!”

Florida State Sen. Danny Burgess told Florida’s Voice, “This case against President Trump was a blatant abuse of the legal system. Since the very beginning, it was clear that it was politically motivated.”
“Weaponizing the courts like this to go after a political opponent was designed to affect actual election interference, plain and simple, and it goes against the very foundation this nation was built on,” Burgess said.

“Today’s verdict proves that radical leftists will stop at nothing to destroy President Donald J. Trump,” Florida state Rep. Berny Jacques of District 59 said in a statement to Florida’s Voice.
“The State of New York should be using its public resources to combat rampant crime and illegal immigration in their state, but they instead spent taxpayer dollars to stack up a Soviet style kangaroo court. This is a shameful and dangerous misuse of our legal system,” said Jacques.

Florida Sen. Jay Collins called the verdict “political persecution” on his “X” account, “Our heroes didn’t sacrifice their lives for this country so that a corrupt regime can persecute a political opponent. This was blatant persecution against the leading candidate for President, Donald J. Trump,” he said.
“The American people are not foolish. It’s clear that Joe Biden has successfully orchestrated a sham trial. It’s time to stand up and ensure that Biden’s banana republic administration is not successful in November. #FreeTrump.”

Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis also reacted to the verdict: “Banana republic. To orchestrate charges in an election year for something years earlier just to try and take out a political opponent – this is what people have been fleeing in 3rd World countries for decades. Embarrassing. Low point in American history. Sad day.”

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, (R-FL) files to end birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants.

(Of course, it won’t make it past the Satanic Senate ruled by the Democrats, but at least it will already be written and ready for Trump to sign it IF he makes it back into the White House.)
CRESTVIEW, Fla. (FLV) – Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., filed the End Birthright Citizenship Fraud Act of 2023, which would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to state that birthright citizenship only applies to U.S.-born children of legal American citizens.
”My legislation recognizes that American citizenship is a privilege – not an automatic right to be co-opted by illegal aliens,” Gaetz told Breitbart News, who was the first to report on the legislation.
“Birthright citizenship has been grossly and blatantly misapplied for decades, recently becoming a loophole for illegal aliens to fraudulently abuse our immigration system,” he continued. “This is an important step in preserving the sanctity of American citizenship and ensures that citizenship is not treated as a loophole to be exploited, but rather a privilege to be earned, when legally migrating to our country.”
Often referred to as anchor babies, the Center for Immigration studies reported in 2018 that roughly 300,000 children are born in the country each year to parents who are illegally residing within the nation’s borders.
Gaetz’s bill was introduced to Congress after Gov. Ron DeSantis had enacted several anti-illegal immigration measures in Florida and cooperated with other states to combat human and drug trafficking at the U.S-Mexico border.
DeSantis brought together “like minded” sheriffs and governors in June to strategize on how to assist border states such as Texas and Arizona in combatting illegal immigration.
“I think we’ll be able to do a lot working together, probably not gonna be able to solve everything because we need DC to get in gear, but I think we’re going to be able to make a difference,” he said.

Florida Republicans widen lead to over 541,000 as Democrats lose a quarter million voters.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Florida Republicans now boast a more than 541,000 voter registration lead over Democrats, according to new data from the Florida Department of state.
The prime reason for the lead expansion for the Florida GOP is the massive losses among Democrats compared to Republicans, the data shows.
Since November 2022, just as Gov. Ron DeSantis was reelected by more than 19 points, Democrats lost over 247,000 voters while Republicans lost over 62,000.
Over that time frame, Republicans’ lead over Democrats expanded by over 185,000 voters.
Republicans expanded the gap by over 45,000 voters in just one month.
The new data comes after last month’s reporting marked Florida Republicans all but eclipsing the half-a-million advantage mark.
A large portion of the registration loss can occur due to the Department of State clearing out voter rolls. According to the department, in 2023 so far, more than 133,000 active and 6,800 inactive voters have been removed.
Speaking with Florida’s Voice last month, Florida GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler noted that the party has made huge strides, at one point trailing Democrats by 250,000.
“In just four and a half years, The State of Florida has gone from having about 250,000 more Registered Democrats than Registered Republicans to now over 500,000 more Republicans than Democrats,” Ziegler said.
That change represents a net 750,000 voter shift.
“[The shift] clearly showcases both the strength of the Republican Party and the expedited extinction of the Democrat Party in the Sunshine State, which cannot happen soon enough,” Ziegler continued. “Our children and grandchildren will thank us for the voter registration gains we are experiencing today.”
Gov. Ron DeSantis’ 2024 campaign celebrated the lead, saying Florida went from “swing” to “red” thanks to DeSantis.
Evan Power, vice chairman of the Florida GOP, said the party “keeps building on the ground” and that their efforts will “lead to bigger and bigger wins.”

Black Florida GOP members slam Legislative Black Caucus for signing them onto NAACP advisory support letter.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Black Florida House Republican members released a joint statement, criticizing the Florida Legislative Black Caucus for including their names on a letter that supports the NAACP travel advisory and criticizes Gov. Ron DeSantis’ policies.
Reps. Berny Jacques, R-Seminole, Kiyan Michael, R-Jacksonville, and Webster Barnaby, R-Deltona, released the joint statement.
“We are not members of the Black Caucus nor do we have any interest in becoming members. We call on the Black Caucus to end any usage of our names that would suggest that we are members or in agreement with their agenda,” the joint statement said.
The joint statement is in response to the Florida Legislative Black Caucus signing their names onto a letter that said they are “deeply concerned with the civil rights and safety” of their constituents based on DeSantis’ “divisiveness.”
The group listed Barnaby’, Jacques’, and Michael’s names on the letter, which criticized DeSantis’ policies and stood in “solidarity” with the NAACP’s travel advisory.
The NAACP Board of Directors warned Black Americans Monday to be advised of “hostile” Florida policies if considering a trip to the state.
“It’s been brought to our attention that the Florida Legislative Black Caucus used our names in a letter supporting the ridiculous NAACP travel advisory,” the joint statement said.
“We never gave permission for our names to be used, and we strongly disavow both the NAACP travel advisory and the Black Caucus statement.”
The Florida Legislative Black Caucus is mostly filled with Democrat members besides Sen. Corey Simon who is a Republican from Tallahassee.
“We strongly stand with Governor DeSantis in his fight against woke ideology. His leadership in Florida has led to expanded school choice, record low crime rates, and record low unemployment. These are results that all Floridians can be proud of!” the GOP joint statement said.
Florida’s Voice reached out to the Florida Legislative Black Caucus and did not receive an immediate response.

Florida GOP Chairman, Christian Ziegler, hilariously offers to help NAACP boss move after issuing state travel advisory.
The NAACP’s latest political stunt in service to the Democratic Party was to target Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), but the organization didn’t put a lot of thought into its chosen line of attack and was left with serious egg on its face.
In an attempt to gin up racial enmity toward America’s Governor, the NAACP issued a travel advisory that claimed Florida “is openly hostile toward African Americans.”
“Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color,” a release from the civil rights organization declared.
The problem here is that the NAACP underestimated Team DeSantis, which quickly countered to share an April 2021 photo of the board’s vice chair, Karen Boykin-Towns “chillin’ in Clearwater, FL.” But it gets even better, because the chairman of the Board of Directors of the NAACP, Leon Russell, LIVES in Florida, he is a resident of Tampa.
And on that note, Christian Ziegler, Chairman of the Florida Republican Party, offered to do Russell a solid. Since Russell supposedly lives in such a bad place, Ziegler hilariously offered to help him move!
“True leadership is being willing to do what you ask others to do… time to step up and MOVE. If you think our state is so bad, the @FloridaGOP will help with moving costs,” Ziegler tweeted.
