It has often been said that President Donald Trump brings out the absolute worst in his leftist critics, and that has certainly proven true over the last 24 hours or so as inaugural gatherings continue and leaderless, angry Democrats struggle to cope with the reality that they have failed and failed miserably.
Case in point, Mariann Budde, a notoriously anti-Trump Episcopalian bishop at the Washington National Cathedral who decided to play politics during the National Prayer Service Tuesday by lecturing Trump and Vice President JD Vance on LGBTQ-related and illegal immigration issues.
As we reported, here's some of what she said during the service:

Trump and Vance, of course, were not remotely amused, and the looks on their faces - especially Vance's - spoke volumes about what they were likely thinking:

NEW ORLEANS -- A federal appeals court on Friday ruled against an Obama-era policy to shield immigrants who came to the country illegally as young children, only three days before Donald Trump takes office with pledges of mass deportations.
The unanimous decision by a panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans — two judges appointed by Republican presidents, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, and one by Democrat Barack Obama — is the latest blow for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, whose beneficiaries have lived in legal limbo for more than a decade.
It signals no immediate change for its more than 500,000 beneficiaries, who can renew temporary permits to live and work in the United States. But the federal government cannot take new applications, leaving an aging and thinning pool of recipients.
The decision may tee up the policy for a third visit to the Supreme Court. Trump sought to end DACA during his first term, but he also occasionally expressed wishes that beneficiaries be allowed to stay.
Obama introduced DACA in 2012, citing inaction by Congress on legislation aimed at giving those brought to the U.S. as children a path to legal status. Legal battles followed, including two trips to the Supreme Court.
This latest case involves a new version of the rule issued by President Joe Biden in 2022. It represented little substantive change from the 2012 memo that created DACA, but it was subject to public comment as part of a formal rule-making process intended to improve its chances of surviving legal muster.
U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen in Houston said the executive branch had overstepped its authority and barred the government from approving new applications. He left it intact for current beneficiaries while appeals played out in court.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who led the challenge on behalf of Republican-led states, called Friday's ruling “a major victory.”
“I look forward to working with President-elect Donald Trump to ensure that the rule of law is restored, and the illegal immigration crisis is finally stopped,” Paxton said.
The U.S. Homeland Security Department didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment late Friday.

President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming deputy chief of staff for policy, Stephen Miller of America First Legal, has sent warning letters to 249 “Sanctuary City” officials that they could face criminal charges for interfering with immigration enforcement under the new administration.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell are among those who received letters.
The letter explained:
Federal law imposes serious consequences for obstructing the execution of federal immigration law. So-called “sanctuary” jurisdictions that forbid compliance with federal immigration law and cooperation with the officials who enforce it are, therefore, breaking the law. Moreover, sanctuary jurisdictions are strictly prohibited from requiring their employees to violate federal immigration law.
We have identified your jurisdiction as a sanctuary jurisdiction that is violating federal law. Such lawlessness subjects you and your subordinates to significant risk of criminal and civil liability. Accordingly, we are sending this letter to put you on notice of this risk and insist that you comply with our nation’s laws.
The importance of this issue is not just abstract or hypothetical. According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as of September 25, 2024, there were 425,431 convicted criminals in the United States who were illegal aliens with final orders of removal entered against them and who were not currently being detained. Additionally, there were 222,141 non-detained illegal aliens in the United States with final orders of removal who had criminal charges pending against them. This adds up to 647,572 illegal aliens. According to Acting ICE Director Patrick J. Lechleitner, one of the reasons for this high number of criminal aliens who are free from detention is that “‘sanctuary’ policies can end up shielding dangerous criminals, who often victimize those same [immigrant] communities.”

In a press release about the notices, America First Legal said, “responding to crimes committed by illegal aliens against women and children, AFL filed a petition with the Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) asking that OVW publicly report monthly on its website the citizenship status and nationality of every person charged with child maltreatment, dating violence, domestic violence, female genital mutilation or cutting, sexual assault, stalking, and/or technological abuse, murder, and/or other violent incidents committed against a minor or adult biological female.”
The organization noted that violating the law and helping illegal aliens circumvent the law could land you 20 years in prison.
Because sanctuary jurisdictions’ laws usually require multiple officials to coordinate their activities, all officials involved are liable under multiple federal criminal conspiracy statutes. Therefore, employees working for an official implementing sanctuary policies may be at risk, even if they do not directly conceal, harbor, or shield an alien. Additionally, it is a crime carrying a penalty of up to 20 years’ imprisonment for anyone who “knowingly … engages in misleading conduct toward another person, with intent to … cause or induce any person to … be absent from an official proceeding to which such person has been summoned by legal process” or to “hinder, delay, or prevent the communication to a law enforcement officer or judge of the United States.””
Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, also appeared on Fox News and warned the officials that to “knowingly conceal or harbor an illegal alien” is a felony.

President-elect Donald Trump tore into the Biden Administration for selling off parts of the border wall following an exclusive Daily Wire investigation, charging that it is “almost a criminal act” and also that he intends to seek a restraining order.
Trump made the statement after a Daily Wire investigation revealed that the Biden administration was selling off portions of the border wall in public auctions, with a goal of unloading the border wall before Trump takes office in January. One Republican Senator found that the administration was recouping just 0.2% of the original cost of the wall material to taxpayers.
To get rid of it before Trump is inaugurated. This should be declared treason. Throwing away taxpayer money by the semi load. Advisers to President-elect Donald Trump are formulating plans to execute his promise of mass deportations once he assumes office, potentially involving a national emergency declaration to repurpose assets from the Pentagon to detain and deport illegal immigrants.
The idea of using a national emergency has been floated in the past, and implementing such a declaration, according to a Wall Street Journal report, would "repurpose military assets," allowing the new administration "to detain and remove migrants."
Trump has, for months on the campaign trail, vowed to invoke the Alien Enemies Act if elected, a wartime law that would allow the president to authorize the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants over the age of 14.
And he has been unwavering in his promise to restart border wall construction, which was halted by the Biden administration, while launching a mass deportation program once he returns to the White House.
The Journal writes:
"As a first step, Trump’s advisers are discussing issuing a national emergency declaration at the border on his first day in office, which his team thinks would allow him to move money from the Pentagon to pay for wall construction and to assist with immigrant detention and deportation."
They state that the behind-the-scenes discussions are already underway.
These same advisers note that the declaration would also "unlock the ability to use military bases for immigrant detention and military planes to help carry out deportations."
There is a 100 percent chance that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) will define military bases used for detaining illegal aliens as 'concentration camps,' which somehow disappeared under President Joe Biden, but are sure to make a big comeback with Democrats raging over their imported voter base being sent back from whence they came.
The discussions indicate advisers are very early in the planning stage and all ideas are in flux. But the WSJ report seems to point to a very serious operation being formulated. And it will be implemented very quickly after Inauguration Day.
The administration will first focus its efforts on illegal aliens who have already received final deportation orders from an immigration court. A reasonable move that should be fairly easy to kickstart, removing 1.3 million illegals from the country.
President-elect Trump has relentlessly insisted on not only stopping the flow of illegal immigration across both the southern and northern borders, but reversing it.
In an interview this past March, Trump vowed to begin mass deportations on “day one.”
“We have no choice,” he said. “And we’ll start with the bad ones.”
“They [illegal aliens] ... come from prisons and mental institutions,” he said during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). “They’re killing our people. They’re killing our country. We have no choice!”
The WSJ report notes that there are questions as to how President-elect Trump will implement his plans, even questioning the "legality" of these moves.
The Alien Enemies Act, part of the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798, will be used, Trump has previously said, to end “the scourge of illegal alien gang violence once and for all.”
The Act is not without its controversies.
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt used the authority granted in the Act to incarcerate Japanese Americans during World War II.
The law states that a president may order non-citizens “to be apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed as alien enemies” when he or she is deemed as coming from a “hostile nation.”
Democrats will no doubt attempt to fight back against using the Act, and any declaration of a national emergency, though with Trump having likely control of both Houses of Congress, it would remain to be seen if they can stop him.
RedState's Margaret Clark reports that the deportation plans are already receiving pushback in the form of massive protests in New York.
Clark revealed that the thousands marching in the streets are protesting against mass deportation and "systematic oppression," with many carrying signs accusing Trump of being racist, fascist, sexist, anti-gay, and anti-trans.

As RedState reported, Vice President Kamala Harris visited the southern border on Friday in an effort to laughably try and portray herself as a staunch proponent of strong border security and the rule of law ahead of the November election.
Harris, who is the Democrat presidential nominee, was in Arizona alongside Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), where she barely bothered to speak beyond giving a short but revealing speech and meeting with officials for photo ops but not the actual border patrol agents who put their lives on the line daily to protect impacted communities.
Also of note is that Harris did not bother to bring up numbers released Friday by ICE showing that under the Biden-Harris administration, a staggering amount of non-detained illegal immigrants convicted of violent crimes are still roaming the United States despite having final orders for removal.
It was all too much for GOP strategist and CNN political analyst Scott Jennings, who dropped some inconvenient facts on the liberal panelists including Obama alum Van Jones, whose facial expressions as Jennings was talking said it all:
“In fact, I think the Trump campaign line today ought to be arsonist returns to scene of crime. I mean, look at the last three-and-a-half years, we've got the border is effectively been opened, people flowing across.
ICE today, released information that there are 13,000 noncitizens convicted of homicide and almost 16,000 noncitizens convicted of some kind of sexual crime who are in the country right now.
Only because we are in the shadow of an election is Kamala Harris trying to rush and pay some lip service to this issue as a tactical matter, Anderson.
I don't think Harris should be trying to elevate this issue because this is the best ground from which Donald Trump has to fight.
So no, I think the Harris campaign is making a tactical mistake and I think they have very little to say that the American people are going to buy on this today.”
Later, Jennings shared more hard truths about Kamala Harris' border visit in contrast to her past stances:
“It's not that it took them too long. It's that they actively worked to undo everything Donald Trump had done during his time in office.
On the first day, they rescinded all of Donald Trump's border executive orders. The floodgates opened. All of these people come rushing across. Then it becomes a political problem. And now, at the end of the election, they want to blame it on Donald Trump.
For her entire career, she has wanted a more permissive immigration structure. When she ran for president before, she wanted to decriminalize border crossings in her heart -- in her heart of hearts, she wants a more liberal, permissive immigration structure. And in his heart of hearts, Donald Trump wants to crack down on the border.”
Retired Chief Border Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke testifies that Biden/Harris administration told him to lie about SIA’s (Special Interest Aliens) and “Known and Suspected Terrorists” at the border and to release them while hiding the data on those encounters.
Heitke is testifying Wednesday before the House Homeland Security Committee over Biden-Harris administration policies that have resulted in over 8,200,000 migrant encounters at the southwest border from Feb. 2021–July 2024.
During his time in the San Diego sector, Heitke explained that he witnessed a staggering increase of migrants.
"In the last two years that I was in San Diego, San Diego averaged over the history of the sector – averaged 10 to 15 significant interest alien arrests per year," he said.
"In 2022, that jumped to well over 100. And in 2023, it was closer to 200. The numbers continue to skyrocket and that's just what we got."
Heitke added that in 2022 and 2023 there were "entire sectors" along the border across Arizona, Texas and California that at times had "no agent presence at all."
"We have no idea who and what came into our country over that time frame," he warned.
Heitke also shed light on the "struggle" to return migrants to their home countries.
"Many people don't realize that we have to have an agreement with each sending country to send their citizens back," Heitke said. "Those agreements were allowed to lapse… with the steady decrease in detention here, it comes down to release, and we end up just releasing those folks into the United States, which rather than deter them from coming, it encourages them to come."
As a result, Heitke said during his time in San Diego, he encountered individuals "from many different criminal organizations and terrorist organizations."
And he stressed that with fewer agents at the border, these individuals are able to cross into the U.S. and freely engage in dangerous activities ranging from fundraising for terrorism or cartels, narcotics, or human trafficking.

The Biden/Harris regime has left millions of dollars of unused border wall material in the desert to go to waste.
Even worse, millions of dollars of border wall material have been sold for pennies on the dollar instead of being used to secure our country.
"This is one of the few large border wall graveyards still left," Bergquam said.
"Hundreds of millions of your tax dollars wasted, rotting out in the sun because of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Everything they have told you about the border is a lie," Bergquam continued.
"Four years, they lied to you and told you that it was President Trump's fault. Four years they allowed the wall that President Trump was putting up to rot out here in the desert. Everything they've told you is a lie," Bergquam continued.
"This is the stuff they couldn't sell. Most of it they did at pennies on the dollar. There are massive yards like this all along our southern border. They got rid of most of it so you wouldn't see it," Bergquam said.
"And now after four years of allowing our country to be invaded, Kamala Harris has the nerve to say she wants to build a border wall," Bergquam said.
