I have no clue how he will perform as Commissioner but he was at one time a very good auctioneer. He was voted “Best Auctioneer in the Ozarks.”

One of my favorite videos of Billy Long is from 2018 when he drowned out Laura Loomer as she interrupted a House hearing. Not that he drowned out Loomer but that he auctioned off her phone while she was filming and being removed from the room.
U.S. Congressman Billy Long broke into an auction chant on Wednesday to drown out a protester who was interrupting a House energy and commerce committee hearing on social media. The protester, later identified as conservative activist Laura Loomer, stood and interrupted the hearing with complaints against Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. Long, a Republican from Missouri, pretended to auction off her phone, drowning out her arguments as she was escorted out of the room. According to Long's biography on the House of Representatives website, Before being elected to Congress, Long worked as an auctioneer for more than 30 years, owning Billy Long Auctions LLC. He was voted “Best Auctioneer in the Ozarks" seven years in a row and served on the National Auctioneer Association's National Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Missouri Professional Auctioneers Hall of Fame.
