BBC Gets Busted Again: This Time With 'Mistranslation' Of Pete Hegseth's Remarks About Iran

Looks like the BBC is at it again with another "mistake"  in their reporting about President Donald Trump and his team.
BBC Persian broadcasts into Iran, so their broadcast would be seen by the Iranian people.
They "mistranslated" a speech from the Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth. They translated it Hegseth saying that the U.S. was bringing death to the Iranian "people," when, in fact, Hegseth specifically used the term "regime," which is not the same thing.

“It turns out the regime that chanted ‘death to America and death to Israel’ was gifted death from America and death from Israel. This is not a so-called regime-change war, but the regime sure did change and the world is better off for it," Hegseth said.
The BBC, which carried Mr Hegseth’s Pentagon address live on Monday, translated the word “regime” as “mardom”, the Persian word for “people”. It later issued a correction.
The error drew condemnation from Iranians online, who accused the BBC of conflating ordinary civilians with the brutality of the regime and altering the meaning of Mr Hegseth’s speech.
That's a pretty significant difference, especially when it's going out to the Iranian people, many of whom are rebelling against the regime.
A BBC spokesman said: “This mistranslated word was a mistake, as a result of human error, during the live simultaneous translation of a speech. We issued a correction to Persian audiences on air and on social media.”
The BBC was already in trouble because of prior incidents against the Trump administration.
As RedState reported, the BBC was involved in a scandal where they edited parts of what President Donald Trump said on Jan. 6, 2021, in a Panorama documentary, making it look as though Trump was encouraging people to be violent at the U.S. Capitol.
Trump threatened a $1 billion lawsuit if they didn't retract their "false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements."
They already had a similar edit to a BBC Newsnight report in 2022 about Trump and Jan. 6, which could indicate a pattern of behavior.
President Trump has filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the BBC. I don't think they helped themselves with this latest incident with Hegseth's remarks.

Trump Slaps BBC With $10B Suit For ‘Alleged’ Defamatory Editing Of Jan. 6 Speech

President Trump lodged an eye-watering $10 billion lawsuit against the BBC on Monday, accusing the British broadcaster of defaming him through a deceptive edit of his Jan. 6, 2021, speech at the White House Ellipse.
The lawsuit took aim at a 2024 documentary by the BBC, which spliced different sections of Trump’s comments before his supporters ransacked the Capitol to make it appear as though he explicitly encouraged the riot.
“I’m suing the BBC for putting words in my mouth, literally,” Trump grumbled to reporters earlier in the day, Monday. “They actually put terrible words in my mouth having to do with January 6th that I didn’t say.”
Trump’s legal team filed the 33-page lawsuit in a federal court in Miami, blasting the BBC’s documentary titled “Trump: A Second Chance” as “a brazen attempt to interfere in and influence” the 2024 election.

The colossal lawsuit is seeking $5 billion for defamation specifically and another $5 billion for violating Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.
Last month, the BBC issued a formal apology, but insisted that it did not defame Trump. The BBC’s director-general and news CEO both stepped down last month. BBC chairman Samir Shah described the edit as an “error of judgment.”
The controversial documentary featured an edited clip of Trump telling rally-goers: “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be there with you and we fight. We fight like hell, and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not gonna have a country anymore.”
But that clip was an edit of three different sections of Trump’s speech and cut out a nearly hour-long gap to make all that appear as one sentence. Among the portions left out was Trump’s plea to fight “peacefully.”
Additionally, the BBC documentary took footage of the Proud Boys en route to the Capitol before Trump’s address and made it appear that they were inspired to march over after his remarks at the White House Ellipse.
Trump’s team is seeking a jury trial.
The BBC has countered that its documentary did not air in the US and is not on any of its streaming services. Trump’s team claims to have standing to sue because US subscribers to BritBox or Americans who use virtual private networks (VPNs) might have seen it.
Trump has fired off lawsuits against multiple media outlets over recent months, such as the Wall Street Journal, over its publication of a birthday card it alleged he wrote to late sex predator Jeffrey Epstein, and a $15 billion suit against the New York Times over its coverage of his 2024 campaign.
The president enjoyed a lucrative $16 million settlement from CBS News over his lawsuit contending the outlet’s marquee “60 Minutes” program made an unfair edit of former Vice President Kamala Harris to improve her public image.
The president also notched a $15 million settlement with ABC News over his complaint that anchor George Stephanopoulos wrongly stated he was found liable for rape, when the jury in the E. Jean Carroll case concluded he was liable for sexual abuse.
The Post contacted the BBC for comment.

BBC Head Tim Davie Resigns Over Doctored Footage Of Trump’s Jan. 6 Speech In Documentary

The director-general of the BBC has resigned Sunday amid scandal after the British state broadcaster shared doctored footage of President Trump speaking on Jan. 6.

Tim Davie, who has headed up the publicly-funded media outlet for five years, said he was taking “ultimate responsibility” for recent “mistakes” made in a statement published by the BBC.
“Like all public organisations, the BBC is not perfect, and we must always be open, transparent and accountable. While not being the only reason, the current debate around BBC News has understandably contributed to my decision,”  Davie said in the statement, which did not mention President Trump by name.

“Overall the BBC is delivering well, but there have been some mistakes made and as Director-General I have to take ultimate responsibility,” he added.
His resignation and that of the CEO of BBC News, Deborah Turness, come after it was revealed that the BBC’s flagship news program, “Panorama,” spliced together two clips of Trump speaking on Jan. 6, 2021, implying that he had directly told his supporters to storm the Capitol.
The program, which aired a week before the 2024 presidential election, “completely misled” viewers by showing Trump telling supporters he was going to walk with them to the capital and “fight like hell,” according to an internal whistleblowing memo shared with British newspaper the Telegraph on Monday.
President Trump’s full quote was that he would walk with supporters “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” But the BBC’s segment made the president “‘Say’ things [he] never actually said,” by editing together footage from the start of the speech with a separate quote nearly an hour later, according to the leaked dossier.
Senior executives at the BBC, along with the broadcaster’s chairman, ignored and dismissed a series of serious internal complaints, according to the 19-page memo.
This isn’t the first time Davie has faced crises over editorial failings and perceived bias. The BBC has been accused of failing to provide unbiased coverage of both the war in Gaza and trans issues in the past week alone.

BBC forced to apologize on-air after HUGE mistake in reporting on IDF raid of hospital. (What a weak ass apology it was.)

Last night we brought you news of the IDF targeting Hamas terrorists in the al-Shifa hospital where they have a base of operation.
In that article we quoted an IDF statement on the hospital raid that said the IDF had medical teams and Arabic speakers as part of their force for such an operation:
“The IDF forces include medical teams and Arabic speakers, who have undergone specified training to prepare for this complex and sensitive environment, with the intent that no harm is caused to the civilians being used by Hamas as human shields.”
That’s extremely clear but in the BBC’s rush to get the story out, they apparently misread an article from Reuters quoted this statement and claimed that the IDF were targeting ‘medical teams and Arabic speakers’.
Thus, they issued this apology on-air:

https://twitter.com/IsraelMFA/status/1724764520822808658?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1724764520822808658%7Ctwgr%5Ec7b2ef64dd222fdee970bdf7860288130e6f53e9%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftherightscoop.com%2Fwatch-bbc-forced-to-apologize-on-air-after-huge-mistake-in-reporting-on-idf-raid-of-hospital%2F

You can say this was just a mistake, but it’s clear that the BBC believed that the IDF were actually targeting medical teams in the hospital and couldn’t wait to report it. They never questioned the story until, I assume, someone pointed out their error.
If you or I had misread that statement, we might at least do a double take and then realize what the statement actually said because we are not anti-Israel.
