Obama’s chef, Tafari Campbell, ID’d as paddleboarder who drowned mysteriously near former president’s Martha's Vineyard estate.
Campbell, 45, of Dumfries, Virginia, was recovered Monday morning a day after disappearing in the waters of Edgartown Great Pond on Martha’s Vineyard.
Massachusetts State Police said Campbell was employed by the former president and was visiting Martha’s Vineyard at the time of his passing.
"Tafari was a beloved part of our family. When we first met him, he was a talented sous chef at the White House – creative and passionate about food, and its ability to bring people together. In the years that followed, we got to know him as a warm, fun, extraordinarily kind person who made all of our lives a little brighter," the Obamas said in a joint statement.
Campabell's body was found just before 10 a.m. Monday at a depth of about eight feet and 100 feet from the shore of Edgartown Great Pond. MSP divers recovered the body after Massachusetts Environmental Police officers used side-scan sonar from a boat to locate it, the agency said.

‘We Did Not Give Our Consent’: Riley Gaines Blasts the NCAA for Exposing Female Athletes to ‘Male Genitalia.’
Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines ripped into the NCAA during her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, accusing the organization of violating the rights of women by allowing biological males to expose themselves in female locker rooms in order to accommodate transgender athletes.
Gaines gained national recognition after criticizing the inclusion of male swimmers in female competition. During the 2022 NCAA women’s championship, Gaines tied the University of Pennsylvania’s Lia Thomas in the 200-yard freestyle event. Thomas was allowed to compete against the women as senior despite having competed on the men’s team for the previous three years.
“The NCAA forced me and my female swimmers to share a locker room…with a 6’4″, 22-year-old, male equipped with and exposing male genitalia,” Gaines told the committee, referring to Thomas.
“No one asked for our consent, and we did not give our consent.”
Gaines added that when she asked an NCAA official about the policy governing the use of locker rooms at the championship, the official responded that all locker rooms at the competition had been made gender neutral.
After her opening remarks, Senator Josh Hawley (R., Mo.), asked Gaines to comment on the pushback she has received since becoming a prominent critic. “You’re told as a woman to shut up. Don’t say anything. What’s that like?” the Missouri Senator asked during his allotted time.
“They will call you everything under the sun, whether it’s transphobic, homophobic, racist, white supremacist, domestic terrorist,” she responded. “They will throw them all at you in hopes to deter you!”
During Hawley’s round of questioning, Gaines added that the team “only became aware we’d be undressing next to a man when we had to see a man undressing while we were simultaneously undressing.”
“Any man could have walked into our locker room… and we weren’t forewarned about it,” the student athlete maintained.
Gaines also responded to Chairman Dick Durbin’s (D., Ill.) comments criticizing her approach as endangering transgender people.

“Sen. Durbin,” Gaines said before the Committee, “you had mentioned this ‘rhetoric.’ You had mentioned ‘what message does it send to trans individuals?’ My combat to that is: what message does this send to women, to young girls…their rights to privacy and safety thrown out of the window?”
The NCAA has declined to implement a formal policy regarding trans inclusion, opting instead to defer to policies set by the governing bodies of individual sports, such as USA Swimming. Gaines blasted the NCAA for failing to protect women in a recent interview with National Review.
“I think they want no accountability,” Gaines said. “I think it’s because they know it’s wrong. They know it could be liable for an injury or sexual harassment in the locker room or a lawsuit.”
Gaines was assaulted during a speaking engagement with Turning Point USA at San Francisco State University in April as a result of her views. She was forced to barricade herself in a room for three hours for her own safety when student protesters became violent and unruly.

Ex-Olympian (female) advocates for no trans-weirdos to participate in female sports.
The left went apoplectic.
Funny how women, who are most affected by this and will see themselves lose time after time if guys who identify as females are allowed to participate, are upset. You’d think they’d be the first to line up and support this.
But no.
Which then gives us the opportunity to grab the popcorn and watch as left eats left in a P.C. battle of words, feelings, beliefs.

Former Olympian Sharron Davies MBE has been accused of “fueling hate” after saying that transgender women should not be allowed to compete in female sport.
“I have nothing against anyone who wishes 2be transgender [sic]”, Davies wrote on Twitter.
“However I believe there is a fundamental difference between the binary sex u r born with & the gender u may identify as.
“To protect women’s sport those with a male sex advantage should not be able 2compete in women’s sport.”
The tweet has since received more than 22,000 likes and 3,000 retweets.
The 56-year-old’s comments were supported by many, including Olympic track winner Sally Gunnell, gold medallist boxer Nicola Adams OBE and gold middle distance athlete Dame Kelly Holmes.
However, others criticized Davies, with some even calling for her to be stripped of her MBE.
“Well done Sharon, fuel the hate!,” one person wrote.
“No one chooses to be Transgender. You have no idea about what it is like to be TG. Shame on you! StriptheMBE.”
Another commented: “The use of the word “wishes” suggests you might have fundamentally misunderstood a key aspect of this issue.”
A third person added: “Absolutely heartbreaking to see UK sport stars coming out as transphobic.
“You don’t see trans women as women, you are also supporting transphobic hate groups. Heartbreaking.”
Davies has since defended her comments, claiming that she’s not the only female athlete who feels this way.
“It is not a transphobic thing – I really want to say we have no issue with people who are transgender,“ she told the BBC.
”Every single woman athlete I’ve spoken to, and I have spoken to many, all of my friends in international sports, understand and feel the same way as me.
“Unfortunately, a lot of people who are in the races [now] are in a very difficult predicament when they can’t speak out. It maybe falls to the people who were competing [in the past] who would understand the predicament that is being faced at the moment to try to create a debate, and try to explain how we feel there needs to be a fair and level playing field.”
The debate comes just weeks after 18-time tennis Grand Slam singles champion Martina Navratilova said it was “cheating” to allow transgender women to compete in female sporting competitions because they had unfair physical advantages.
“I am happy to address a transgender woman in whatever form she prefers, but I would not be happy to compete against her. It would not be fair,” Navratilova wrote in The Sunday Times.
“To put the argument at its most basic: a man can decide to be female, take hormones if required by whatever sporting organization is concerned, win everything in sight and perhaps earn a small fortune, and then reverse his decision and go back to making babies if he so desires.
“It’s insane and it’s cheating.”
A spokesperson for the Stonewall charity said: “Sport should be welcoming to everyone, including trans people. We need clubs and governing bodies, as the experts, to consider how their sports’ individual policies can work to be as inclusive as possible, and what advice and guidance they’re giving to ensure all people, including trans people, can take part in sport.”

Biden Will Veto Bill Protecting Women’s Sports.
The Biden administration announced on Monday its strong opposition to the House passage of the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act” (H.R. 734), which would prohibit “school athletic programs from allowing individuals whose biological sex at birth was male to participate in programs that are for women or girls.” The bill will likely be heard and voted on in the House this week.
The bill was introduced by Greg Steube (R-Fla.) with 93 cosponsors, and was approved by the House Education and Workforce Committee last month in a party-line vote. The legislation amends Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, barring “individuals of the male sex to participate in programs or activities that are designated for women or girls.”
The bill summary states: “(Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally funded education programs or activities, including in public elementary and secondary schools and in colleges and universities.) Under the bill, sex is based on an individual’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.”
According to the Biden administration’s letter, “H.R. 734 would deny access to sports for many families by establishing an absolute ban on transgender students, even those as young as elementary schoolers, playing on a team consistent with their gender identity,” adding, “Politicians should not dictate a one-size-fits-all requirement that forces coaches to remove kids from their teams… If the President were presented with H.R. 734, he would veto it.”
The administration’s opposition to the bill echoes comments made by Democrats during last month’s hearing with the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
