Central Command released footage of a strike on Iran’s 240-meter drone carrier Shahid Bagheri, equipped with UAVs, helicopters, attack boats and advanced defense systems.
Just one year after Iran unveiled its first drone carrier, the Shahid Bagheri — designed to carry multiple squadrons of drones and operate helicopters — the U.S. military said it struck the vessel, which is now burning.
In a statement issued overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, the commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Adm. Brad Cooper, said American forces had sunk or destroyed more than 30 vessels during the campaign. He added that in the past several hours, U.S. forces had also struck an Iranian drone carrier roughly comparable in size to a World War II–era aircraft carrier.

DeleteThe US is sure making a lot of nice artificial reefs around there lately...
ReplyDeleteGonna be a hell of a nice dive site one day, ain't it. When the Iranians get their shit together it'll be a nice dive industry just waiting for a few entrepreneurs.
DeleteMost here now posses a larger navy than Iran does.

Well, they still have quite a few gunboats that they were using to threaten ships moving through the straights but yeah, their NAVY ships are all on bottom patrol now.
