Armed Forces Day

On May 16, 2026, America celebrates Armed Forces Day. A day dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Established in 1949 by President Harry S. Truman, Armed Forces Day was created to unite and recognize all branches of the U.S. military following the unification of the Armed Forces under the Department of Defense. Since then, Americans have come together each year on the third Saturday in May to show appreciation for those serving in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force.
This day honors the courage, sacrifice, readiness, and dedication of Active Duty service members, Reservists, National Guard personnel, and military families who protect our freedoms every day.

Thank you to all who serve.
