The crossing arm came down between the truck cab and the trailer. Why didn't this moron just back up and possibly destroy the crossing arm rather than let a locomotive destroy the truck and probably do damage to the locomotive and other train cars. He doesn't need to have a drivers license AT ALL.
The notes say this actually happened in Versailles, Ohio, rather than Canada. The driver was also said to be from India. Did he get his CDL in NY or CA ... probably.

Are alien truck drivers covered under the H1B program?
DeleteThat's f'ed up if they are because this is what the web site says about H1B workers:

There is a red light on an intersection with a railroad crossing where I travel frequently. Almost every time I an there I see other drivers pull up past the stop line painted on the street and wait for a green light while sitting on the railroad tracks and right on the area where the crossing arm will come down. I haven't seen a train-car collision yet but it is bound to happen sooner or later.
ReplyDeleteSome people will refuse to respect the unstoppable power of a train until seeing or being involved in a train collision. After that, if they survive, they don't play games with trains anymore.
