Now that is a truck! It is in my favorite color, Orange! Just like the t-shirt I have on right now and the big six engine, that will outlast many countries... I would have found a four speed on the floor to be better, but would take a three on the tree...

He restored this one back in the early 90's. DeleteThere was a period of time when old trucks like that could be bought for $500 or so, still running. And the first thing kids of my generation did was take a jigsaw and cut a square hole in the dash to install an aftermarket radio, then cut several holes in the door for speakers. Got to be where you couldn't find an original dash anymore that someone hadn't chopped up. Nice to see one that survived. We always drive old Fords, but the Chevy's were real nice too. Funny, don't recall any late 50's model Dodges down where we were.
ReplyDeleteI love those old trucks. I've remodeled some older trucks but you have to buy several trucks worth to ba able to build one good truck. Obongo didn't help restorers at all when he did the 'cash for clunkers' to try and rid the streets of gas burners.
