Damn Doctors/Insurance Bullshit

Well, about a month and a half ago, I went to my doctor and took a breathing test. These tests really kick my ass. It takes the rest of the day or more to recover fully. They told me they were going to send the results to the medical supply company that afternoon so I can get an Oxygen Concentrator.

The medical supply company called the week before last and told me that they couldn't accept the test results as they were over a month old. We got into an bitch argument because my doctor told me they sent the test results over a day after the test. I'll never know who screwed up on that deal. The medical supply company told me that they needed more recent test results.

Okay. So last week I went in and took another breathing test, just the test, no interaction with my usual nurse. Another day and a half recovery just for the f**king fun of it. My doctor called me right after I got home that they had sent the results to the medical supply company. Okay, good to go ... right ... right?

No. The medical supply company sent my doctor a note saying that to comply with insurance requirements, the breathing test results have to be in conjunction with a regular dr/rn visit and cannot be done separately.

SON OF A BEYOTCH !!!

So, off I go this morning, to take another breathing test and wave to my nurse so they can note that I made a f**king nurse visit at the same time.

(I did have a conversation on the phone with my nurse's assistant and she told me, after I got through raising hell, that we would "work it out." The last time I was in, we talked about getting me set up for an appointment to get my medical marijuana card. (I don't want marijuana, I want the gummies to help me with my anxiety when my breathing gets really rough.) She said we would talk with the nurse about getting that done and then we would "do the test", in kind of a tone that meant to me that we would take the last results and work with them. Fingers crossed.)

  1. Good luck Karl. I know the fiery hoops and all the other obstacles we have to jump through to get things done. Stick with it, never give up. Take good care and let us know what happens.

  2. And then they wonder why people cheered when that insurance executive got gunned down in NY.

I believe some of that paperwork BS is intentional in order to drive people to pay out-of-pocket to avoid the hassle. They turn down payment multiple times, require complicated processes for getting a review, delaying payments such that you get multiple overdue notices, etc. and at some point those of us with the money will just pay the fucking bill to get it over with. And the harpies in the office never let anything slide, nope, they out-nazi the real Nazi's in terms of "just following procedure/orders".

    1. You couldn't be more correct Don. No one could convince me that I won't get billed several times for the repeat visits although it was to take care of the very same issue. I frickin' HATE dealing with the system but whatchagonnado. And like you said, the medical supply company KNEW I had to go into the doctors office to take the damn breathing test so why do they need it to be documented?

  3. Your insurer is simply trying, weasel out of paying. They know few people have the resources to sue and make them do what they are obligated to do. It's BS like this that led to the shooting of the United Health Chief Criminal.

    1. I'm sure that is a major issue, insurance companies promise you stuff that they know they have no intention of providing without a fight and they hope to wear you down. Thanks for the visit and the comment Daniel.

    1. You're probably right on that Judge. If you're an asshole in one aspect of your life, I don't guess I would expect anything different from you in the other aspects of your life. Never lived under a HOA but I've heard the never-ending complaints. Thanks for the visit and comment.

Welcome to socialized medicine run by a corrupt, capitalistic protected insurance companies that really don't give one cold damn about you, just send your payment in serf so we can bend you over any way we like and make you pay more. I liked to see more insurance company executives and upper middle management weinies get the public shot...
