Well, the wife and I saw her Oncologist on the 21st for her post-op evaluation and they were very happy with the success of the surgery and her overall reaction to the chemo and other medications. She has been off of chemo for a month now as they prepared her for the surgery and after seeing the results, they are starting her back on chemo this coming Thursday. She will have a chemo session every 3 weeks for 3 more rounds. After that will be another CAT or PET scan and then check-ups every 6 months for a while and then probably every year. We are very happy with the Dr.’s and her progress. We are thankful for all the friends, family, and those of you that remembered her in your prayers. God has been good.

In celebration of my loving wife’s excellent surgery recovery and Dr.’s evaluation, I have decided that my pseudo-misogynistic jokes and juvenile comments are back on the table. My wife has a awesome and equal sense of humor to myself and she just laughs off most of my ‘female’ jokes with a small shrug, knowing that I truly love her more than life itself and that my only intent is to make her laugh. It’s kind of a selfish gesture because what makes me laugh more than anything is to hear my wife laugh. I have cut her a small amount of slack during her illness even though I know she can take anything I can give her in the way of joking. (Also, I have a huge amount of respect for women that are biological women and in NO WAY are my intentions to insult their gender or their sexuality … unless they are radical feminists or liberal blue-haired freakazoids and then I truly hope that my jokes hurt your feelings and make you cry.)
Anyway, we were talking to her Dr’s at her post-op appointment and one of the attending residents asked what were we going to do to celebrate the good news about the surgery success. I told them I was going to call our insurance company to ask about new rates. They looked at me for a moment and then they had to ask about my response. I told them that since she no longer has a uterus, her driving was bound to have a serious improvement and that she should now be capable of backing the truck up into a parking spot, parallel park with ease, and numerous other things that females show inadequacies in. (In real life, my wife is an excellent driver.)
My comments made them look at my wife for a moment as if expecting her to slap me down, but she just smirked a little and gave me her standard response to my juvenile comment … “You’re so stupid.” Then they all dogged me out and we all shared a laugh. Mission accomplished.
