I like VWs, but this is not right. It would be a bitch to turn and is still has the 36hp engine in back? That isn't enough power for it to get out of it's own way and with AC, no hill climbing with that.
ReplyDeleteIt went through a customization in CA so I hope they had the vision to put some power in it. Doesn't look like any modification in the rear though. CA definitely has it's share of serious mountains and they knew it was going to Hawaii and that's nothing but hills.
DeleteI love VW buses, but like you said, this one is nothing you could drive in any tight spots.
I'm hoping a flat six from early 911 went in there...they will fit. If not, maybe a built, 2 liter 4.
ReplyDeleteBeyond cool af, though!
I have to say, I'm a VW fan so I like the buses but this one would have problems with the turning radius and, if they didn't enhance the engine, it would be severely underpowered.
DeleteFound this: "According to its seller, the bus is powered by a VW 2074cc engine that is a bullet-proof torque monster, ...can reach 65mph with 12 passengers"
ReplyDeleteSo it can probably maintain 45sh in the hills!
Thanks Greg. I looked for some information on it when I saved it, didn't find anything ... but that was several years ago.
