Alan Dershowitz Turns His Back On The Dark Side

Harvard law professor and constitutional attorney Alan Dershowitz has officially ditched the Democrat Party after 67 years and registered as a Republican.

In a powerful Wall Street Journal op-ed published Monday, Dershowitz blasted today’s Democrat Party as increasingly hostile toward Israel and dangerously consumed by radical ideology, warning that its current trajectory poses a serious threat to the country.

Over the past year, Dershowitz repeatedly warned that Democrats were abandoning core American values. He even pledged to campaign for Republicans in the 2026 midterms, saying he was “totally frightened” by the prospect of Democrats regaining power.
“I’m going to be supporting the Republicans in the midterm election. I’m hoping that the Republicans maintain control both of the House and the Senate,”
“The last thing I want is Chuck Schumer to be head of the Senate or Liz Warren to be chairperson of a committee or AOC to be chairperson of a committee.”
“The Democrats have not only lost my votes, but they have made me an enemy, essentially, by how they’ve moved away from American values, Israeli values and values of decency,” he continued. “I’m not a Republican, but I am a very anti-Democrat. I’m against the Democratic Party. I will do anything to see Mamdani defeated.”
On Monday, Dershowitz officially left the Democrat Party.

  1. Enjoy your blog, and have never commented before. I've never really had antisemitic thoughts (go ahead and call me one. I don't care; please show me I'm wrong), but one thing I'm really starting to notice is a certain groups (apparent) true allegiance. This groups main political home was the democratic party. No matter how corrupt or duplicitous, nor the graft, perversion, incompetence, or just plain how much damage that party has done to the United States, this group didn't seem to have much of a problem with it. Certainly not enough of one to speak up about switching partys. But now Israel's actions are being questioned and attacked by their traditional party, well, that was too much. Damaging the country that has provided for and protected them is ok, but the other is too much. And no I'm not a cheerleader for Iran or islam.

    1. Well ... if you're going to come here and make what you must think is a controversial statement, you should at least work up the nerve to leave an alias, initials, something. There are a lot of Anons who come here and make comments just to be assholes and sometimes I just delete 'Anons' for being assholes.
"I've never really had antisemitic thoughts (go ahead and call me one. I don't care;" ... WTF? I don't usually accuse people of shit they haven't been proven guilty of ... and obviously you DO care, it's your second sentence.
NOW ... it's true, and it's a sad truth that a lot of Israelis and/or Jews do seem to belong to the Democratic Party. I don't understand it and I don't believe a lot of the Jew-hating accusations that the anti-Semites throw around.
Israel has provided for and protected US interests as well and they share an immense amount of medical and technological technology with the US.
I'm not going to get in depth with pros and cons of our relationship with Israel in a comment box on a blog. It is not the environment for a debate. Not going to do it.
I am PRO-Israel ... for several reasons. The main one being: Genesis 12:3 "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: ..."
Whether you hate or love Israel is up to you. I have made my decision.
I am glad you enjoy the blog ... I try.

  2. Once a liberal, democrat lawyer, he will always be a liberal, democrat. Leopards cannot change their spots. I don't buy his explanation or his excuse. He is a jew, and his little brain will always think as a jew, I am an independent and I don't like what those buffoons in israel are doing and have invaded our government and we slobber at their feet. Even though democrats are my nemesis, they are not my friend but are serving a useful role whatever their reasoning for hating they jew. Maybe, just maybe they have finally figured out a jew in your midst is trouble and not healthy.

  3. I seriously doubt Dershowitz voted for one democrat since the 90s
This is like Lindsey Graham coming out of the closet. Great for him if he does, but we all already know...
