The International Olympic Committee (IOC) made a huge announcement Thursday: going forward, biological males will be banned from competing in women's categories at the Olympics, and all athletes who wish to compete as women will have to pass a SRY gene screening.
The SRY gene is located on the Y chromosome and is found in biological males. The IOC said in its announcement that it "considers that the presence of the SRY gene is fixed throughout life and represents highly accurate evidence that an athlete has experienced male sex development." Athletes who want to compete in women's events will have to undergo "once-in-a-lifetime" testing for the SRY gene via saliva, cheek swab or blood sample.
"The policy was developed on the basis that it is universally accepted that providing for a female category is necessary to allow both males and females equal access to elite sport," the IOC said in an announcement.
"It was guided by the IOC’s modern goals relating to equality (equal opportunities for female athletes in finals, on podiums and in championships); enhancing Olympic value (featuring both women’s and men’s finals in every sport); and visibility and inspiration (celebrating female athletes on the Olympic podium to inspire and represent women and girls worldwide)."
This means that Imane Khelif, the obviously-male Algerian boxer who brutalized female athletes during the 2024 Summer Olympics, will no longer be able to to compete as a woman. As RedState reported last month, Khelif admitted that he has the SRY gene and confessed that he had undergone hormone therapy before the '24 Olympics in an effort to reduce his testosterone levels.
IOC President Kirsty Coventry said of the policy: “As a former athlete, I passionately believe in the rights of all Olympians to take part in fair competition. The policy that we have announced is based on science and has been led by medical experts. At the Olympic Games, even the smallest margins can be the difference between victory and defeat. So, it is absolutely clear that it would not be fair for biological males to compete in the female category. In addition, in some sports it would simply not be safe.”
She continued: “Every athlete must be treated with dignity and respect, and athletes will need to be screened only once in their lifetime. There must be clear education around the process and counselling available, alongside expert medical advice.”
The decision by the IOC to ban men from women's competition is in line with President Trump's 2025 executive order ending male participation in female sports, which White House Press Secretary described as "the end of a disgusting betrayal of women and girls.” The president also directed the Department of Homeland Security to develop visa policies that would "prevent the entry of male athletes seeking to compete in women’s sports."
If you're wondering how the media is dealing with this news, here's the AP falsely reporting that men who pretend to be women are banned from competing in the Olympics.
For the record, any athlete failing to prove they are female via genetic testing will still be able to compete in the male categories, so there's not a single elite athlete out there who is not welcome to become an Olympian. They just have to do it fairly.

What's truly ludicrous is they actually felt they needed to issue an actual "ruling". Things like this are so blatantly obvious....to the same part of society. And the insane part is beyond reach.
