Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, has announced his resignation. Director Kent outlines his decision as driven by opposition to the war against Iran.
Who got to Joe Kent?
In January of 2020, when a U.S. strike ordered by President Trump eliminated top Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani, Kent argued on social media that the president, to his way of thinking, had not gone far enough.
“Trump’s restraint shows that he wants a deal with Iran & his red line is American loss of life & IR nuke development. Our fundamental venerability remains — Troops in striking range of IR weapons & proxies w/ no vital US mission,” Kent posted on the 8th, adding, “I personally think we should have crushed their ballistic & nuke capes, but Trump has a plan, he has definitely earned the confidence of any clear eyed observer.”

ReplyDeletePeople defend this war for 3 reasons. 1. They think Iran is a threat to America. 2. They think the Iran is a threat to Israel or 3 .They don't want to antagonize Trump.
This guy didn't believe 1 or 2 and didn't care about 3. He has the balls to quit over his convictions. Good for him.

DeleteThis is for the US also. I don't know how many times I have to explain this ... it's SO DAMN SIMPLE. Iran has been at war with us for over 40 years, they have been killing our soldiers for over 40 years, they have been committing terrorist acts on Americans (and others) for over 40 years, they've been screaming "Death To America" for over 40 years ... and now they're on the brink of having nuclear weapons ... and they want everybody in America dead ... I'll let you try to ponder that out.

There's a backstory to their (Iran) angst, and I might agree with some of their laundry list, but could only tell them, "I hate my government more than you do".
