President Donald Trump expressed gratitude over the death of Robert Mueller in a social-media post from Palm Beach County, where he first shaped the public narrative over the investigation of Russian influence in the 2016 presidential election.
Trump is being hounded on social media for his Mueller post. It was hard-hearted.
There was definitely no love lost between the two men.
Mark Twain's quote about it might have been better.
ReplyDeleteHelp me out. He had many quotes about death. Which one are you referring to?
Delete“I have never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure” is often attributed to Mark Twain
DeleteOkay, thanks, I remember that now. That would have been a much better thing to tweet than what Trump tweeted, for sure.
DeletePS. It has been found that Mark Twain, so his historical researchers say, never said that but I have always been told it was him.
After searching multiple sites, I guess it was found that the earliest mention of that quote was from a famous lawyer, Clarence Darrow, who said this: "I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction."
"I don't wish anyone dead, but I have enjoyed reading their obituary." Or something like that - this is off the top of my head.
ReplyDeleteRead of the actions taken by Mueller against DJT, his family and friends. Muellers actions using US power of government. I'm not surprised to hear DJT feelings of the news. Mueller earned it. IMO.
I can find no sympathy for Mueller either. He was a traitor to his country.
Delete"Oh, the horror!". Every time a solid conservative (Reagan, Thatcher, Atwater come to mind) has passed, the left goes dancing in the streets. So the left can spare me the hypocritical outrage over what Trump said.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY, Unferth.
DeleteCharlie Kirk was another recent one.
And I will NEVER forgive them for the way they reacted when the mighty Rush Limbaugh passed away.
