UPDATE: The ICE Officer Involved In The Minnesota Shooting Death

Was hospitalized last year by being dragged by illegal aliens car.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent involved in the Wednesday shooting death of an aggressive anti-ICE protester in Minneapolis was involved in an incident last year that led to him being hospitalized after being dragged by a car being driven by a fleeing illegal alien.
On June 17, 2025, the unnamed officer was attempting to take 40-year-old illegal Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, a convicted sex offender, into custody after a traffic stop in Minnesota. Munoz-Guatemala was uncooperative with officers, and the one involved with the Minneapolis shooting broke the back window of the illegal's car in order to remove and arrest him. The officer's arm became trapped in the window when Munoz-Guatemala decided to flee the scene, thus dragging the officer 100 yards and driving erratically in order to dislodge the ICE agent.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said at the time of the June incident that the ICE agent had been hospitalized with “significant injuries to his arm and hand,” but eventually made a full recovery.

Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala was found guilty last month in U.S. District Court of "Assault on a Federal Officer with a Dangerous and Deadly Weapon and Causing Bodily Injury." In making the announcement of the guilty verdict, U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen recounted what precisely had happened to the ICE agent:

On June 17, 2025, law enforcement officers attempted to arrest Munoz-Guatemala, a convicted sex offender, on an immigration order.  Agents made a traffic stop of Munoz-Guatemala.  The defendant was uncooperative and refused to follow directions.  After warning Munoz-Guatemala several times, an agent broke the back window so that he could open the vehicle from the inside.  Munoz-Guatemala then accelerated his car.  As he sped away, the agent’s arm became trapped between the seat and the car frame.  Munoz-Guatemala dragged the federal agent for more than 100 yards, while weaving back and forth in an attempt to shake the agent from the car.  The agent was eventually jarred free from the car but suffered significant injuries to his arms and hand.
