Salzburg and Innsbruck are not shitholes, at least at Christmas 2025. Possibly down to the police patrolling in 4s with one female office, one hungry K9, 4 Glocks , 2 Steyr AUGs and the look of intent.
ReplyDeleteI completely disagree with "the type of firearm matters.". The second amendment covers ALL firearms. I don't care if you have a $50K gold plated American Eagle or a Saturday night special. They are all equal in the eyes of the second amendment.
ReplyDeleteWhat you are NOT allowed to do is brandish a weapon, especially at law enforcement while being arrested. It is not the firearm that matters, it is the suspect's actions that matter.
While I agree with you that all firearms are equal in the eyes of the 2nd Amendment, I think you are reading too much into the comment "The firearm matters". I'm pretty sure that he was just saying that the guy didn't go there with a revolver for self defense, he went there with a weapon to do damage to more than one target. He was referring to the possible purpose of that weapon, NOT the legality of that weapon.
DeleteI agree with the entirety of the rest of your comment.
As I've said elsewhere, in any other sane situation, say a traffic stop in an otherwise peaceful area, I'd really question that shoot. It just doesn't look good, legal or not. If I was wrestled to the ground by 4 or 5 cops and my .38 snub fell out of the holster, I hope I don't get 10 rounds in my back while being held down, but then again I'm smart enough not to go to a protest or fight back against cops.
ReplyDeleteBut the circumstances matter. These are law enforcement guys completely surrounded by - no, not protesters - actively violent insurrectionists. Useful idiots, paid protesters, organized opposition, and barely contained violence. They are on the edge of a civil war with politicians on both sides ramping up the rhetoric. So yeah, I'd be more than a little on edge and I'm surprised the body count isn't already double or triple digit.
Perfectly said, Don.
