Friday Rides - The Good - The Bad - And The Ugly

 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Hide-Away Hardtop

(I know it's not Friday. But yesterday I was so out of it I had no clue it was Friday so I'm just gonna post this and claim temporary incapacitation.)

  1. My father’s first new car 4dr hardtop. The beginning of my automotive adventures. To my eyes more beautiful than a 57 Chevy. I remember the heater was an optional feature. It seemed my father worked more on this car than all the old beaters he had before. I learned Motorcraft carburetors could not be tuned. Thank god for JC Whitney carb adapters. Body rot started in 2 years and away it went

    1. Having been a Chevy lover for most of my earlier life I cannot understand how anyone could find these cars more beautiful than a '57 Chevy BUT that's why they make different makes of cars. So we could all be happy ... at least in the old days where every car didn't look like every other car.
JC Whitney was a lifesaver for anyone who piddled with their own ride.

  2. No, it is permanent discrepancy and a splash of insanity. Oh, and you have some nice Fords there...

    1. I have to agree with the splash of insanity thing. Yesterday I couldn't do anything that requires more than 8 watts of power. I was on a really slow roll. Today I'm back on the painkillers ... not as many ... and no alcohol ... yet. I'm still in pain but it's easing off a tad.
