A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputy in Tampa Bay, Florida, rescued a young 7-year-old kid from his older brother, an armed suspect who was choking him and holding him hostage.
The deputy didn’t hesitate to break down the door and shoot the suspect to save the child.

On November 2, 2025, at 2:04 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic violence call in Brandon where a 7-year-old child was being choked by an armed suspect. When deputies arrived, Mario Camacho, 27, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet and two tactical vests with ballistic plates, had barricaded himself and the child inside a bedroom. Deputies heard the child screaming for help and forced entry, confronting Camacho. After repeated commands were ignored, a deputy shot the suspect, rescuing the child.

ReplyDeleteNot at all. Neither did the two tactical vests. I don't think that helmet slowed that bullet down at all. I haven't seen confirmation, but one FL paper reported that he was shot in the head and shortly after that, they removed that from the article. Don't know if it wasn't true or if they were asked to rescind that bit of information.
