I know most of you, like me, used to try and sound out the written 'sound effects' that appeared in Don Martin's cartoons. It took longer to sound out the word and get it just right than it did to check out the cartoon.

I worshipped Don Martin as a kid. His sound effects still make me smile. 😊👍
ReplyDeleteHe was an awesome cartoonist. I always had to sound out the effects because they were almost a cartoon in themselves. Where else are you gonna see "SIZAFITZ" as a sound effect of putting out a cigarette on a eye?
