People in the comments were asking: 'Why aren't people jumping in and trying to save him?'
WHY would anyone put their lives at risk, jumping into water to save a drowning man, which is dangerous unless you’re trained, AND he may have a knife, AND you know he’s mentally and physically capable of trying to kill you, because he just tried to kill two defenseless women, one who was holding a baby.
I would have yelled from the wall … “Don’t drop the knife, we need that for evidence.”
Based on multiple news reports and official statements from the Tallahassee Police Department and the City of Tallahassee.
The individual was identified as 19-year-old Octavious McCaine.
McCaine stabbed two women at Cascades Park. Both women were transported to a hospital and are expected to survive their injuries. Following the stabbings, McCaine ran toward a pond, climbed a retaining wall, and jumped in. He was later recovered by the Leon County Sheriff's Office Dive Team and pronounced dead.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. The incident took place at Cascades Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
The Tallahassee Police Department has stated that preliminary information indicates McCaine was experiencing a severe mental health episode at the time of the incident.

DeleteCouldn't watch the vid because I then would have to sign in to twatter and I don't do that but I got the jist of it. Only response I would have was to pull my piece and plug him if I had a chance before he wounded those women or as he was running away before he drowned in that pond, at least the coroner wouldn't get wet examining him.
ReplyDeleteThe video didn't actually show any of the crime. It just showed his head bobbing in the water as he tried to teach himself to swim ... and he failed.
