Ammonium Nitrate Explosion - Queensland, Australia - (2014)

In Australia, South of Gladstone, Queensland, in Sept 2014, a road train carrying 52 tons of ammonium nitrate crashed near Angellala Creek, set off a massive explosion, destroyed 2 bridges, 2 fire trucks, damaged several other vehicles, and registered 2.1 on the Richter scale. Parts of the wreckage were found up to 1 km (0.6213 miles) away from the scene.

    1. That was curious to me as well. I wonder if that was due to the possibility of ground movement owing to the strong measurement on the Richter Scale?
