egads - that was bad. I've never run from a cop while riding, but apparently other people do. As a result, cops act like total dickheads (even moreso than usual) whenever pulling over a motorcycle. I've had a cop try to ram my bike as I was pulling onto the shoulder, going all of 10 mph, with my blinker on indicating I was pulling over. No apology, just a gruff "I've seen too many of you assholes try to run" in response to me getting irate over his actions. Either way, that car turning left across your lane while on a bike is always bad news.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bad accident no doubt. I doubt he made it through that. I was going to spent some time seeing if I could find more on it ... but not today. When I got my first bike, a dirt bike, I got a little radical, OFF ROAD. Even at a young age I had seen enough motorcycle accidents to know that your survivability is not good vs a car. After I got older and bought a BMW in Germany, my driving habits became much more wary and much more careful. I DO NOT trust people in automobiles when I'm on a bike. That should be past tense, I don't ride any more.
