1960 Dodge Power Wagon (Restomod)
This 1960 Dodge powerhouse was an exclusive conglomeration between Dodge and American LaFrance. Produced for two years 1959 and 1960. This was a custom ordered firetruck, known as a “Little Mo”. Recently converted to a truck, painted, rewired, and new Autometer gauges installed. The carburetor and fuel system were replaced. Original 8,000 mile 318 ci Polysphere Dodge V8. Equipped with freshly rebuilt original front Dana 44 HD axle and original Spicer 60 rear axle turned by 4.10 gears and new warn locking hubs. All original drivetrain and manual 4 speed transmission. New custom wood bed installed. New power steering and new front and rear suspension.
That is the Y-Block , big block 318cid engine! I had one of those in a 1965 Plymouth, Sport Fury Station wagon and it was a powerhouse of an engine! That is a nice Power Wagon, that would be perfect for hauling a small camping trailer into the bush and solitude... I would have put on an aftermarket TBI fuel system for sure starts and better mileage. of course, no cats or computer except for the fuel management module and those are generally grenade proof. Of course, I would have painted a nice shade of green or even tan, not red!
ReplyDeleteI would have definitely used a different color but the only reason the owner used red was to stay in keeping with the trucks history as a fire truck. That was in one of the articles I read.
