DEI In NASCAR - Bubba Wallace

If you don't like NASCAR this post will mean nothing to you.

Saturday night was the last race of the regular season for NASCAR Cup Series. The Chase begins with Darlington on Aug. 31st.

I have always rooted for the Hendricks Racing team, I've almost always liked most of the drivers there. Terry Labonte was a favorite of mine. The current drivers are Kyle Larson (5), Chase Elliot (9), William Byron (24), and Alex Bowman (48).

The other driver I root for is Ross Chastain (1).

Anyway, Larson, Elliot, and Byron have all won races in the regular season which guarantees them a spot in the Chase - Round of 16.

Saturday night Bowman didn't have the best car and the only way he was gonna make it into the chase was to either win or get in on points. The only way he could get in on points was for one of the previous winners to win again and that would prevent another winner spot from being filled, bumping him.

On Lap 27, Bowman was collected in a 12 car pile-up on the front stretch triggered by chain reaction contact between Bubba Wallace, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch.

Bubba Wallace was obviously oblivious to the fact that there were 2 cars below him and tried to move down. He pinched Logano down into Busch and caused a massive accident.

Of course Wallace can't ever accept the fact that he is a subpar DEI hire and tried to blame the entire accident on Kyle Larson, who was behind him. If Larson had bumped him from behind he would have felt that and known that before he watched the replay. He actually didn't have an excuse until he saw the replay and then immediately laid blame on Larson. Larson may have touched him, but Wallace was already squirrely before that and had bumped into Logano twice right before the accident.

I think he thought he saw a noose in the track ahead of him, had flashbacks, and tried to turn to avoid it.

He actually even tried to blame part of the accident on Logano, which is just asinine.

“Everything was happening pretty quick there,” Wallace said. “The hit from the 5 (Larson) shoved me down there, and it was like I got shoved up by the 22 (Logano) and the 12 (Blaney) moved up. He was trying to just move up and take the lane. But, oh well. I hate it. 20th or 22nd to the lead in a short amount of time …"

Bowman will be in the Chase because Blaney (12) won and he is a previous winner.

You judge for yourself. I didn't have anything against Wallace ... there's plenty of room in NASCAR for black drivers ... until he screamed about "nooses" in the garage and bitched about Confederate flags. Ever since then, I wish emotional frustration upon him and mechanical disaster upon his car.

Unfortunately Wallace has won a race during the regular season, so he will be in the Round of 16. Hopefully, he will get cut before the last round.

I'm NOT a fan of Hamlin or Logano either. They're both in the Round of 16.

For now though, all 4 of Hendricks cars and Chastain are in the Chase.
