(That warning should work for the stupid too ... but there's a reason we call you stupid .. so you do you.)
This guy (@omgitswicks) puts out a lot of short clips about the experience of being a Floridian. My wife loves his videos.
This one deals with something I’ve posted about before … the Puss Moth Caterpillar. It is the larvae of the Southern Flannel Moth.
Just a little brush with one will put you in pain that you can’t imagine. I thought I was having a heart attack.

OMG I have been hit by those things so many damn times in my youth it ain't even funny. One time, as a kid, climbing a tree, one somehow got in the sleeve of my shirt and slithered all up and down my arm - hurt so damn bad I just fell out the tree and bounced off the ground. Even after the ground impact my arm still hurt worse. I think Texas has Florida beat on native wildlife that can kill you, while Florida still has the spotlight on non-native wildlife - including pythons, monkeys, and piranha.
ReplyDeleteIt seems crazy that a damn caterpillar can inflict such intense pain.
DeleteI think that would be a close race ... (I love Texas) but I don't think Texas can beat Florida on the number of critters that can kill you.
