For the past week I've been having some consistent, moderate pain in my right side where your back hurts when you have kidney stones. After the one I recently passed this makes me nervous because about 6 years ago when I was passing a stone, they did x-rays and said I have at least 6 or 7 more in my right kidney. I'm not having to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes like you normally do when the kidney stone has dropped into the ureter and starts blocking the flow to the bladder. So, finally, I'm worried that my right kidney may be full of kidney stones causing me pain and any day they're gonna start dropping into the ureter and causing severe pain and maybe other more serious problems. I'm not one for going to the doctor to take care of stuff preemptively but kidney stone pain can make the most bad-assed man cry like a baby. Gonna go get it checked out. I'll be back. Have a great morning.
So, in the meantime, I’ll just deal with the pain as long as I can and just hope it goes away … those may be famous last words?
Kidney stones are a real PIA.
Best of wishes to you. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bluesman. I didn't get a solution and I'm still in a little pain but I will head to the ER in a heartbeat if it gets any worse.
DeleteBut at least they said there was no blood in the urine and that's a good thing, but I know something is wrong with my kidneys.
DeleteAfter I recovered from my kidney infection my doctor who had the personality of a clam said I should have all the other stones removed or risk something even worse the next time. Sooo five rotorooters in five weeks and no more stones It’s coming up on six years and thank heavens no more stones. It wasn’t fun but I’m glad I did it Best luck to you
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad that everything worked out with the 'rotorooter' procedures, lol. If you don't mind me asking, they went up through your urethra with a tool and crushed them or something similar?
DeleteWent up the plumbing with a sonic blaster to break the stones up and then a finger grip to pull out the pieces. No specific point of pain after each procedure just felt like I fell off a roof and needed a day or two to recover at home. Between the previous sepsis and the stone removal I was rated at stage 4 kidney disease but over the next year it improved to stage 2/3 for which I am grateful
DeleteThanks Jumpinjn. If I am given a chance I will probably opt to get something done.
DeleteMy brother-in-law just had the Sonic Kidney Stone Blaster procedure last week. Please check out having it done.
ReplyDeleteThe previous commenter was saying he had the same thing done. With the number of kidney stones they said I have, it may be my best option.
