1971 Plymouth GTX
One of 2,942 GTXs produced for the model year, this 1971 Plymouth GTX is powered by a 440ci Super Commando V8 was topped by a four-barrel carburetor from the factory for a rating of 370 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. An Edelbrock intake manifold and twin electric pusher fans have been installed. Paired with a Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission and a Sure-Grip limited-slip differential. Power steering, front disc brakes, dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, hood pins, dual side mirrors, quad headlights, rear window louvers, hood pins, and a rear wing.
Finished in orange over a black interior and is equipped with black hood accents.

ReplyDeleteI have owned a few. Never had anything I was disappointed with. I had a Duster when I was in the Army as a second ride. That was a badazz ride. Bought it on the cheap from a guy who was PCS'ing to Korea and he couldn't afford to take it.
DeleteI had a 1972 Satellite Sebring that I wanted to mimic a GTX as much as I could. I replaced the 318 with a 340 and I did have a 4 speed in it. I never finished it and later sold it, I wish I hadn't, I really liked and miss that car, it was cool even in a base style.

Probably the fastest Dodge I've ever drove/ridden it. I regretted selling it but I was PCS'ing to Germany and I didn't have any way to get it to FL from KY.
