TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is offering free admission to Florida State Parks for veterans, active-duty military personnel and their families on Veterans Day.
“Veterans Day is a time for us to honor our veterans, their sense of duty and the sacrifices they and their families have made that allow us to enjoy the many freedoms we have today,” Director of Florida State Parks Chuck Hatcher said. “By offering free access to our beautiful state parks, we hope to provide a space for families to come together, honor their service and create lasting memories.”
Veterans Day is on Monday. Many Florida State Parks have deep historical ties to military service, having served as strategic outposts and barracks during various conflicts. These parks preserve numerous sites of historical and cultural significance, offering visitors a chance for reflection and remembrance.
All other fees, including those for overnight accommodations, concessions, and rentals from park vendors, will still apply.
