(This one is an apology for the last one, LOL.)
1951 Mercury / Mercurius GTC From Knud Tiroch Of Hotrod Hangar - Austria
It used to be a 1951 Mercury. Now, its creator calls it the Mercurius GTC. He wanted the Mercury to look metallic, halfway between a fighter jet and a race car, and he nailed it. He's got aircraft-inspired seats and dashboard, plus an attitude that would lead you to believe it feeds on racetrack asphalt.
What you are looking at is not actual paint but sterling silver, an alloy composed of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver was basically burned to the car with a flame.
The Mercurius GTC is powered by an LS race engine, which pumps out 550 horsepower and is mated to what Hotrod Hangar refers to as a "fast shift transmission." Knud is now going back home to Austria with three awards: Best Paint, Best Performance, and Best of Show from the Jenkkiautonäyttely X-treme Car Show in Finland
And for the ultimate in presentation he’s got a matching old Russian cosmonaut helmet.
