President-elect Trump Names Rep. Mike Waltz As National Security Adviser

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) is a retired Army Special Forces Colonel and an Afghanistan war veteran. Waltz became the first Green Beret to serve in Congress. As a former White House and Pentagon policy advisor in the George W. Bush administration, Waltz became knowledgeable about the inner workings of the Pentagon and its dysfunction.
As a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Waltz has been a staunch critic of not only the Biden-Harris administration's botched Afghanistan withdrawal, but is on board with cutting funding to NATO, and is considered a China hawk. Waltz is also staunchly pro-Israel and condemned the Biden-Harris administration for its delay of critical weapons to assist them in their war with Hamas.
Waltz was among the congressional members who led the charge of demanding the resignation of former Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle and he was part of the select committee that investigated the Secret Service's bungled protection of President-elect Donald Trump which led to the assassination attempt on July 13 in Butler, PA.
Waltz's experience, keen insight, and doggedness are now being rewarded. President-elect Donald Trump has named him as his next National Security Adviser, a cabinet-level position that does not require Senate confirmation.
