Our Founding Fathers did not want a standing army or a standing, national police force. We have both. The only peace officers mentioned and allowed by the Constitution was the local, county Sheriff.
ReplyDeleteYou hear things like that so seldom these days, you forget 'em. I wish we could go back to the days when things could and would be handled by the local sheriff but if we went back to that system today, we would have to schedule public hangings for all day Saturday and half of Sunday for a while just to thin the third world shit out and teach people that the law of the land was back to stay.
