Hurricane Debby has left the building ... THANK GOD
Well, we made it through without any damage that I can see from the house. Tomorrow I will drive around the property and see if we have any damage that I can't see from the porches. We have a lot of clay on this property, some of it only 3 to 4 inches under the topsoil so there is a massive amount of standing water especially on the southernmost part of the property. Probably 1 1/2 acres under maybe 3' at the deepest. Water always sits there after a rain.
But we didn't lose power except for those 5 or 6 times when it clicked off and on within a second or two ... just enough where we'll have to go around and reset all the appliance clocks ... or not. We do have a whole house generator but I like to keep that 250 gal. tank full. I cry when it has to be filled.
That was the longest time I have ever spent with a storm just sitting on top of dropping massive rain and beatdown wind so we feel fortunate right now. And it is taking it's time leaving the area. Moved off of us like it was sad to go.
