1971 Plymouth GTX-R - 8.4-Liter Viper V10 - Viper Magnum T56 6-Speed - Sold at Barrett-Jackson, 2022, for 148,500
This 1971 Plymouth GTX Pro-Touring custom coupe is powered by an 8.4-liter Viper V10 engine paired to a Viper Magnum T56 6-speed manual transmission with a Billet yolk and 4-inch aluminum driveline. Dubbed as the "GTX-R," this no-expense-spared custom build was completed by Horsepower Northwest. The 3rd generation Viper V10 engine is a fresh build by Prefix dyno rated with 630hp and 660 ft/lbs of torque. Equipped with a custom aluminum 8.75 third member with 3.70 TrueTrac differential, 14-inch Baer 6P power disc brakes with billet master cylinder, Hellcat functioning cold air headlights, massive custom radiator with smart dual 10-inch SPAL fans and a custom engine bay, rocker exit exhaust system and a fully welded chassis stiffened and braced throughout. Additionally, all the trim, engine components and miscellaneous interior hard parts have Cerakote ceramic baked coating. The modern F8 Green exterior paint has a PG DBC base coat and House of Kolor primer and clear coat. The exterior is complemented by the black and tan interior, as well as the custom-made Satin Bronze Boze wheels, which are 18x8-inches in front and 19x11-inches in back. The interior features flushed front and rear glass, power windows, Restomod Air heat and air conditioning, custom center console, one-piece headliner and front and rear seats along with custom door panels, dash and package tray. The Classic Instruments gauges are custom screen-printed with the GTX-R logo, the horn button and dash plaque are also one-offs.
