(Sadly, with the Democrats being in charge of the DOJ, the DA’s and most of the judges in blue states, we know how far this will go.)
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Florida Republican Rep. Cory Mills has filed to impeach President Joe Biden over his recent comments that the U.S. will not send weapons if Israel invades Rafah.
Mills’ resolution includes one article of impeachment for “abuse of power.”
It cites a “quid pro quo” with Israel “by withholding precision guided weapons shipments in order to try and extract military policy changes.”
The impeachment referencing a “quid pro quo” echoes the 2019 impeachment of former President Donald Trump over a phone call with the president of Ukraine, where Trump had asked Ukraine to look into potential illegal actions by President Joe Biden and his family in the country. Around the same time, foreign aid for Ukraine had been frozen, and soon released.
“In violation of his oath to faithfully execute the office of President and to uphold the Constitution, President Biden abused the powers of his office by soliciting a ‘quid pro quo’ with Israel while leveraging vital military aid for policy changes,” Mills said.
“This egregious action not only compromised the credibility of the United States but also undermined the interests of our longstanding ally, Israel,” the congressman from Florida said. “Therefore, President Biden’s conduct warrants impeachment, trial, removal from office, and disqualification from holding any future office under the United States.”
Impeachment requires a simple majority vote in the U.S. House of Representatives, which is narrowly controlled by the GOP, and a two-thirds majority in the Senate for conviction and removal.
Mills is a staunch backer of Israel. He recently helped rescue Americans from the region shortly after the war with Hamas kicked up.
