I know every state / region has it's own venomous critters, i.e. reptiles, arachnids, scorpions, etc, but if you live in a rural area especially, aren't on the watch for venomous snakes in Florida now, you are wrong. Rattlers are the primary concern but we also have moccasins, copperheads, and coral snakes. Fortunately none, to my experience, of these snakes are aggressive and respond defensively only when trod upon or threatened. Coral snakes are almost incapable of delivering a deadly bite unless they have access to more tender areas of the body.
But be on the lookout. Copperhead camo is the most devious of all these, IMO.
I almost shat on myself earlier this year when I was unloading stuff out of the bed of the truck and caught this 'Coral snake' out of the corner of my eye. It was a piece of cord that was in my friends yard, lol.
