I didn't have any significant musical events for This Day In Music so I thought I would post this video about a group named CityRocks. They are a group of musicians who travel throughout primarily Hungary with fellow musicians of all ages, skill levels, and professions just to enjoy the pleasure of making music. They call these events 'flashmobs, but they are anything but, being organized in advance. I have enjoyed their videos many times. I hope you get the same amount of satisfaction.

CityRocks Statement: CITYROCKS was founded by a group of friends and musicians in Szeged, Hungary, 2017. The aim of the initiative is to bring live music, including rock music, to as many people as possible, and to provide a concert experience for amateurs who have only been able to play at home so far, in addition to professional and experienced musicians. Participants in CityRocks include children in the same way as the older age group. There is no lower or upper age limit. At the concerts so far, the youngest instrumental participant was 8 and the oldest was 74 years old. Another basic goal of CityRocks is to create a cohesive, music-loving and cultivating community, in addition to promoting live music and rock.
Following the pioneering initiative of the Italian Rockin1000, CityRocks first organized its special rock flashmob in Szeged in 2018, and since then they have given major orchestra concerts and a full-day music program in several Hungarian cities and abroad (Transylvania).
Every city who invites our project, becomes the capital of live music and be part of this unique community for one day. It is not just about music, but it is the connection between us.

In early August, more than 400 musicians and vocalists gathered for the flashmob “CityRocks 2021 – Dunaújváros” (Central Hungary) to play 12 classic rock hits and sing their ways into the hearts of a captivated audience joining the live act in their thousands. Drummers, guitarists, bass players, keyboardists, and singers rallied in a field the size of a football pitch not just from each and every corner of Hungary but from foreign lands as far as Germany, Finland, Netherlands, USA, the Romania. Playing shoulder-to-shoulder with professionals, school kids, teens and tweens, moms and dads, grannies and grandpas, all of them die-hard rock and roll fans. Novice rockers, semi-pros, and veterans; the young and the elderly from 8 to 72 had their hearts beat to the same rhythm, no matter if living-room musicians or band members. CityRocks Productions as the organizer of these series of events considers its mission to raise the banner of live music and rock by unlocking the vast potential in creating a strong, united community of musicians and music lovers.
